About the Show

Hart to Hart is an American action television series created by Sidney Sheldon and produced by Aaron Spelling and Leonard Goldberg about Jonathan Hart, a self-made millionaire and his wife Jennifer, a beautiful freelance journalist.

Living the jetset lifestyle, the glamorous couple spend their free time as amateur detectives and find themselves involved in cases of smuggling, theft, international espionage and, most commonly, murder.

The series aired in the USA on ABC from 25 August, 1979 to 22 May, 1984. There are 112 hour-long episodes in five seasons, which includes a two-hour made-for-TV movie that was converted into two episodes, serving as a two-part pilot.

The series originally aired in South Africa on the SABC in the 1980s. It later aired on DStv's M-Net Series channel and on TopTV's Fox Retro channel. See "Seasons" below for seasonal broadcast dates and times.

Season 5 premiered on Fox Retro on Monday 15 August 2011, at 17h35. New episodes broadcast daily, on weekdays. There are 22 episodes in the fifth and final season.

Synopsis

This popular 80's show was created by author Sidney Sheldon and was initially called Double Twist, but was renamed Hart to Hart after a revamp of the script.

Jonathan Hart is a self-made millionaire - the CEO of Hart Industries, a global conglomerate. His gorgeous wife Jennifer is a freelance journalist.

They are also both amateur sleuths, and in each episode they find themselves up to their eyeballs in murder, smuggling, theft and international espionage.

They also manage to find time to snuggle together, as they love each other very much.

Max is their loyal, butler, cook and chauffeur. Freeway is their adorable pet canine, named so because he was a stray they had rescued when he was found wandering on the freeway.
