It's the 1930s. Gilda is a free-spirited photographer sharing her Parisian flat and her bed with Irish academic Guy and Spanish refugee Mia.
The three share more than just their passion - there's a bond between them that seems unbreakable, until Paris is ripped apart by the invading German armies.
World War II or not, Gilda is determined to keep up their hedonistic lifestyle, and despite everything she becomes involved with Nazi officer Frans after Guy and Mia go off to fight the Nazis.
The friends are separated, but will it be forever?
