It's been almost two years since actor
Hykie Berg won
Survivor South Africa: Maldives and it was looking like the show had disappeared. Turns out it hasn't because it's back for Season 5.

Each of them will be leading a tribe and won't be at the mercy of the Survivor jury. They'll be judged by the viewing public instead. Each of their tribe members will play the game in the usual way, getting voted out at Tribal Council in a fight to win the million etc.
Mark and Corné won't be playing the same game as them and can't be snuffed from the show. They'll be judged on their abilities - or lack thereof - to lead their tribes.
Their potential prize: R500 000. As the game unfolds viewers will be tasked with assessing their abilities to lead their tribe and one of them will win the R500 000 at the end of the show based on viewer votes.
Word from Feesh is that he wants his tribe members to showcase their individual qualities that will help the tribe progress - a desire he's going to regret when his tribe decides that they're all such "individuals" they don't need to get along.
Most important to Corné is that his tribe members have a fighting spirit when the going gets tough.
Audition build-up starts in July - there's no final info. on them yet except the usual: contestants need to have a valid passport and be over 18. We'll keep you posted when the final details are available.
