Hykie Berg is a South African actor best known for his role as Darius du Buisson in the M-Net soap opera Egoli, from 2004-2005.

He currently plays the role of Conrad Bester in the M-Net soapie Binneland (formerly known as Binnelanders and Binneland Sub Judice), since 2009.

He was a celebrity contestant on the M-Net reality competition Survivor South Africa: Maldives, in 2011. He was the winner of the season, beating Letshego Moshoeu by eight votes to three.

Born and raised in Pretoria, Hykie matriculated in 1996, after which he completed a drama diploma at the University of Stellenbosch.

His first television role was in the youth series The Res on SABC2, followed immediately by a starring role in the Afrikaans-language murder mystery drama series Plek van die Vleisvreters, which originally aired on DStv's kykNET channel from April to July, 2004.

In April 2004 he joined the cast of the long-running M-Net soapie Egoli: Place of Gold in the role of Darius du Buisson, a charmer who proves popular with the girls.

In 2005 he was nominated for a Crystal award for Best Actor for his role in Egoli.

He left the soapie in 2005 but made a special guest appearance in the 12 November, 2007 episode.

In 2006 he starred in the Afrikaans feature film Ouma se Slim Kind (Grandma's Smart Kid), written and directed by Gustav Kuhn. It marked Hykie's feature film debut.

He played the recurring role of Frank in the first season of the SABC3 dramedy series One Way in 2006, returning for the first episode of the second season in 2007.

Hykie also played the role of Conrad in the SABC2 soapie 7de Laan.

From 6 April to 28 September, 2006, he co-hosted (with Juanita Burmeister) the kykNET game show Om-i-Wêreld (Around the World).

He has also acted in numerous theatre productions including S.A. Rock Alternatief, directed by Roystan Stoffels; The Lounge, by Lanan Priege; and King Lear, directed by Roy Sargeant at Artscape in 2002.

In the 24 October, 2007 episode of the kykNET talk show Kwêla, Hykie appeared on the show to talk about his years of heroin addiction and his fight to get clean.
