As reported by TVSA blogger TDC last week,
Tbo Touch has been involved in a touch-and-go with SABC1's Friday night music show
LIVE.
One moment his contract wasn't renewed, then he was locked in meetings negotiating things and now he's involved with the behind-the-scenes of the show to see what happens next.
The VJ, also known for his Metro DJ, has been co-presenting the show since May 2008 when he took over from founder host
Andile Ncube, who moved to producing behind-the-scenes.
Tbo plays out with Season 9, which officially ends it's run this Friday (19 February) and Season 10 is currently scheduled to premiere on Friday, 26 February.
The show will be relaunching with a new set and new presenters - which needs to be organised in a week. It seems that Season 9 has suddenly come to an end and plans are only being finalised for what should happen next, now.
No decisions have been confirmed about the roles of Mzansi party prince
Phila Mazibuko and the show's long-time co-host
Bonang Matheba for the new season, but from the sounds of it Bonang's role could also
be reduced change.
She'll be joining Tbo in the search for new presenter
s - if the show's searching for more than one it means that they're looking at re-launching with a totally new vibe.
According to SABC1, the channel wants to "cast a wide net" to search for undiscovered talent to take the show in a new "direction".
With the current talent-search trend happening with shows such as
Class Act and
Isidingo we'd bet our TV's that this is what the show will do -
if there was enough time.
Our vision of the future: a search for presenters in each city, featuring a judging panel made up of show long-timers. With the final decision up to viewers.
Could this be how Season 10 will start?
We'll keep you posted when we hear more.
