Nate Berkus is an American interior designer and decorator who runs an interior design firm in Chicago, Nate Berkus Associates, best known as a regular guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show, on which he offered design advice to viewers.
As the featured design expert on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Nate has helped dozens of guests redecorate their homes.
He hosted his own spin-off series, The Nate Berkus Show, from 2010-2012.
In September 2004, he had to depend on the kindness of others to survive the devastating Indian Ocean tsunami. Nate and his partner, photographer Fernando Bengoechea, were on vacation when the tsunami hit Sri Lanka.
The pair were swept out to sea and while Berkus survived, Bengoechea did not.
Outside of The Oprah Winfrey Show, Nate is a frequent contributor to O at Home and hosts his own show about the home and living well on XM Radio's Oprah & Friends channel.
In 2008 he hosted the reality competition show Oprah's Big Give.
He currently lives in Chicago.
