Sam Cowen is a British-born South African radio DJ known for hosting The Rude Awakening on 94.7 Highveld Stereo and the Weekend Breakfast show on 702/CapeTalk.
She is known to television viewers as the host of the e.tv women's daytime talk show Great Expectations.
She is also the co-author of a five-season sellout show with Harry Sideropoulos called No Sugar, Candarel Please, and wrote a column for Your Baby magazine with partner-in-crime Lee van Loggerenberg.
She is also the author of Waiting for Christopher, a book inspired by her first pregnancy.
In 2002 Sam appeared on the first South African Celebrity Big Brother series on M-Net. She was the first celebrity to leave the house, after members of the elite Special Task Force unit from the South African Police Service "evacuated" her from the house with a helicopter before the first eviction took place, as a publicity stunt to raise awareness of the show's charity drive that week.
