Bio

Linda Mtoba is a South African actress best known for her role as Nomonde in the 1Magic soapie The River, from 2018-2024.

Born and raised in Umlazi township in KwaZulu-Natal, she studied marketing management part time whilst teaching at a primary school.

Deciding to pursue a passion for acting, she auditioned for the Mzansi Magic soapie Isibaya and landed the role of Zama Ngwenya, first appearing during Season 3, in 2016.

She joined the show as part of a new storyline in which a new taxi family, headed by Judas Ngwenya (Menzi Ngubane), arrived on the scene to cause trouble. Linda played the free-spirited daughter Ntombizama, the apple of her father's eye.

She would go on to recur in the role for the next two seasons, until 2018.

Due to her increased public profile due to this role, she was a presenter at the 12th South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) in 2018.

Later that year she landed the recurring role of Nomonde on The River, making her first appearance in Season 1, Episode 72, which aired on 8 May, 2018.

She continued to recur as Nomonde in all six seasons of the show, which ended on 2024.

Linda landed her first starring role in television when she was cast as Nokwanda in the second season of the 1Magic drama series Isifiso, which premiered on 8 April, 2023.

The following year she landed the leading role of Nthandokayise in the BET telenovela Queendom, which tells the story of a maverick community leader in Tsakane who discovers that she is the rightful heir to the throne of Khahlamba Kingdom.

The series premiered on 22 April, 2024.
