Bio

Celeste Ntuli is a South African stand-up comedienne and actress best known as one of the Top 10 contestants on the second season of the SABC1 reality competition series So You Think You're Funny!, in 2009.

She made her acting debut as one of the main cast members of the Mzansi Magic telenovela isiBaya, in 2013.

Celeste was born in Empangeni and after matriculating moved to Durban to study entertainment technology at the Durban University of Technology.

Before entering So You Think You're Funny!, Celeste was working as a bookseller and part time as a stand-up comedienne, since 2005. She came third on the show.

The exposure she received on the show allowed her to pursue comedy as a fulltime career and she has since performed at many major comedy festivals, as well as on television, radio and film.

She featured on the Blacks Only comedy showcase in 2010 and in 2012 performed a set at the South African Comic's Choice Awards. She also performed in the first Stand Up Zulu comedy show at the Durban Playhouse, in 2011.

On radio, she has made several appearances on Ukhozi FM with Linda Sibiya and on the Igagasi FM show Lekomotion.

Aside from her appearance on So You Think You're Funny!, she has also made guest appearances on the eNCA show Late Nite News with Loyiso Gola, on the third season of the Mzansi Magic prank show Laugh Out Loud and on the community television station Soweto TV.

In 2013 she joined the cast of the Mzansi Magic telenovela isiBaya in the role of Siphokasi Zungu (45), the oldest of Mpiyakhe's wives. Her character is a respected childless matriarch with an irreverent, slightly wicked, sense of humour and a secret smoking habit.
