Bio

Robert Patrick is an American actor best known for his roles as the T-1000 in the 1991 action film Terminator 2: Judgment Day, and as Colonel Thomas Ryan in the action television series The Unit, from 2006-2009.

He also had a starring role as Command Master Chief Petty Officer Joseph Prosser, Chief of the Boat (COB) of the USS Colorado, in the action thriller television series Last Resort, from 2012-2013.

A steely-eyed veteran of his craft, Patrick commands the screen with his powerful, confident presence. He had a very strong recurring role in the series True Blood (which became a series regular role in Season 6) and a co-starring role in Trouble with the Curve, re-teaming with Clint Eastwood.

He co-stars opposite Kevin Bacon and John Hurt in the Billy Bob Thornton film Jayne Mansfield's Car, and opposite Sharon Stone and Amanda Seyfried in Lovelace.

January 2013 brought the feature film Gangster Squad in which he stars opposite Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling and Josh Brolin and the comedy Identity Thief with Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy, which opened in February 2013.

Patrick co-starred in Safe House with Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds. He is probably best known for his performance as the T-1000 in the box office smash hit Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

Additional film credits include Flags of Our Fathers, Clint Eastwood's Golden Globe nominated World War Two epic movie, We Are Marshall with Matthew McConaughey, The Marine and Firewall with Harrison Ford, opposite Joaquin Phoenix as Johnny Cash's father in the Golden Globe winning film Walk the Line for director James Mangold and The Men Who Stare at Goats with George Clooney.

He was also seen in Good Day for It, Swat: Firefight, Strange Wilderness, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, Spy Kids, All the Pretty Horses, The Faculty, From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money, Copland, Eye See You, A Texas Funeral, The Only Thrill, Rosewood, Striptease, Ladder 49, Fire in the Sky, Double Dragon: The Movie, Decoy, The Last Gasp and Hong Kong '97.

In previous TV series Patrick starred as Colonel Tom Ryan in the action-drama The Unit, from Shawn Ryan and produced by David Mamet. He played John Doggett on the last two seasons of The X-Files and received critical acclaim for his high profile performances in the second season of The Sopranos.

He was also featured in an episode of Showtime's The Outer Limits, the Original TV movie Bad Apple and the miniseries Elvis, in which he played Elvis's father.

When not acting, Patrick spends countless hours giving back to his community. He has been the Honorary Grand Marshall for the Love Ride for many years, helping to raise millions of dollars in the pursuit of literacy; he has built homes for disabled veterans with Habitat for Humanity; has participated in the Read Across America programme by reading to children and has ridden across the country to participate in Rolling Thunder, which makes sure that the administration does not forget the POW's and MIA's from past wars.

He is also a member of the Boozefighters Motorcycle Club which does numerous charitable events.

Born in Marietta, Georgia, Patrick was an avid athlete growing up but was taken with acting after sitting in on some drama classes at high school. He moved to Hollywood in 1984 and was cast in the beatnik play Go.

He got his break during this performance when he was discovered by casting director Roger Corman. Ever involved in all aspects of his trade, he enjoys producing film when he is not performing.

Robert is the only actor to be killed on-screen by all three of the Planet Hollywood founders: Bruce Willis (Die Hard 2), Sylvester Stallone (Cop Land) and Arnold Schwarzenegger (Terminator 2).

He lives in Los Angeles with his wife Barbara and their two children.
