Bio

Allan Louis is a Haitian-born American actor best known for his role as live-in chef Marco Giordello in the television dramedy series Privileged, from 2008-2009.

Louis was born in Haiti, the son of a Dominican tailor and a Haitian domestic. Though they moved to Miami when Louis was 5, he'd had sufficient time to soak up the rich folk culture around him and to become fluent in English, Spanish and Creole.

After spending his high school years at the New World School of Performing Arts in Miami, Louis was accepted in the B.F.A. program at Chicago's Goodman School of Drama.

Louis' stage credits include the role of Booker T. Washington in Ragtime and Emmett Scott in Black Star Line: The Marcus Garvey Story.

He also played God in the form of Jimi Hendrix for the play Amwrecka, and has been in three different productions of the rock opera Hair.

After regional work in Minnesota and Indiana, Louis relocated to Los Angeles in 1995 and studied at The Actors' Lab. He soon landed roles in the series Martin and The Jamie Foxx Show.

He has also appeared in Boston Legal, Invasion, Numb3rs, Cane, Days of Our Lives, Charmed and CSI: Miami. Louis was so impressive in his role as a tragic trans-gender character on the series City of Angles that director Steven Bochco called upon him again for a similar role in NYPD Blue.

On the big screen, Louis appeared in the film Stomp the Yard, in the role of Dr. William Palmer, the father of lead character April, played by Meagan Goode.

Louis currently resides in Los Angeles.
