Bio

Miranda Ntshangase (neé Mokhele) is a South African actress and singer who rose to fame with her role as new presenter Latoya on the second season of the SABC1 drama series Tshisa, from 2008-2009. It was her first major television role.

She subsequently became known for a variety of television roles, most notably as Joy on the Mzansi Magic soapie The Queen and as Dr Diko on the SABC3 soapie Isidingo.

Born in the small Free State town of Jagersfontein, Miranda received a Bachelor Of Arts Degree from AFDA (School Of Motion Picture & Live Performance), which she attended for three years. She majored in Screen Acting, Stage & Multi Camera and Music.

She has made short films and mini-series and is also a professional singer. She is multilingual, speaking English, Afrikaans, SeSotho, Xhosa, Tswana and Zulu.

Miranda released her first single, Lendoda, on 29 March, 2017. Her second single is entitled Ubuhle Bemvelo.

In 2009 she played Thandeka on the e.tv soapie Rhythm City. Thandeka is one of three singers in the show's all-girl group Sizzle.

She also did a PSA (Public Service Announcement) for the Heartlines series and has presented Walala Wasala on SABC1, Ziyamporoma on Soweto TV and The Story Of on One Gospel.

Television series she has acted in include the SABC1 drama series Mtunzini.com and the e.tv series eKasi: Our Stories, playing the lead in the film Brother's Keeper.

Miranda played two different roles on the SABC1 legal drama series Sokhulu & Partners: an attorney called Thembi Gumbi in Season 2 (2011), and a cameo as a pregnant gym buddy five years later in Season 3.

In 2013 she played the role of therapist Julia on the Mzansi Magic soapie Zabalaza and the following year appeared as a celebrity contestant on the first season of the SABC2 game show I Love South Africa.

In 2016 she joined the cast of the Mzansi Magic soapie The Queen in the recurring role of Joy, making her first appearance on 7 September (Season 1, Episode 23).

The following year she joined the cast of Isidingo in the role of Dr Diko, making her first appearance on 19 June (Episode 4701).
