Season 3

Sokhulu & Partners is a legal drama series that explores all aspects of our legal system, Constitution and Bill of Rights, and how these apply to our lives in practice.

Sokhulu & Partners is a burgeoning Johannesburg legal practice originally started by the Sokhulu brothers, Zweli and Mabutho. Mabutho has moved on to become an advocate, leaving Zweli and their long-time partner in the business, Pamela Thusi, to carry the business forward.

They are joined by brilliant young associate Mo Bafokeng and supported by intrepid investigator Qaqamba "Q" Jezile and the firm's general assistant Londeka.

The partners have always shared the same vision – to uphold the law and to serve their community. As they are drawn into legal matters, where human rights are paramount, complications in both their personal and professional lives begin to take their toll.

Will they hold fast to their principles? Will they be able to separate their personal lives from their legal careers? Will they continue to serve the best interests of their clients? Watch as their stories unfold and personal bonds are tested.

The Season 3 cast includes Thami Afrika as Zweli Sokhulu, Linda Sokhulu as Pamela Thusi, Lehasa Moloi as Mohau Bafokeng, Petronella Tshuma as Qaqamba Jezile, Zukisa Matola as Thandeka Sokhulu and Talitha Ndima as Londeka.

The first episode of Season 3 was directed by David Golden. The creative producers for Season 3 are Roberta Durrant and Janine Cornelius.

Background

The series is set in the legal practice of the Sokhulu brothers in Johannesburg. The majority of the cases they handle land up in the Constitutional Court.

Some of the cases features in the series include: the right to health; sexual offences; corporal punishment; and the right to education; and those dealing with customary law and inheritance, the right to housing in an urban renewal context and right to a clean and safe environment.

South Africa has the most advanced constitution in the world. The series will aim to foster a sense of pride in our justice system as well as to provoke debate about facets of the law, in an entertaining context.

The show's working title was Brothers in Law.
