Bio

Nomhle Nkonyeni was a South African actress who has appeared in numerous television productions, including Mzansi, Tsha Tsha and the 2007 mini-series Society.

She also appeared in the 2004 feature film Red Dust.

She was the mother of actress Thabang Nkonyeni, who was murdered in 2009.

In 2016 she was awarded the SAFTAs Lifetime Achievement Award.

In 2017 she joined Scandal! in the role of Lulama Langa, mother to Siseko Langa, played by Hlomla Dandala.

Nomhle died in hospital on Wednesday 10 July, 2019. She was 77.
