Louw Venter is a South African actor, writer and comedian best known for playing Corne in the stage show - and later television comedy series - The Most Amazing Show.

Louw and his creative partner Rob van Vuuren, who plays Twakkie in the show, are also the show's creators and writers.

In 1998 Louw was seen in his first film role in the feature Adrenaline, where he met Rob van Vuuren. At this stage he had already started developing the character Corne and only a week after the feature Adrenaline was completed the first Most Amazing Show was performed by Venter and Van Vuuren.

In the next few years Louw and Rob wrote, directed and performed in two TV series and created and performed in more than 200 live shows. They toured all over South Africa, Europe and as far as the Seychelles with the Most Amazing Show.

In subsequent years Louw concentrated on his writing and film work. He created and featured in the TV series Rugby Motors and was the co-creator and head writer on the TV series Liefste Kayla in which he also featured.

He played the lead in the feature Konfetti, which he also wrote and played the lead in the features Jimmy in Pienk (Hanneke Schutte), Die Laaste Tango (Deon Meier), Love The One You Love (Jenna Bass) and the male lead in Alles Wat Mal Is (Darrel J Roodt).

The Most Amazing Show was nominated for three SAFTAs and won a South African Comedy Award. Louw was nominated for a SAFTA (2013) for best supporting actor in the feature Semi-Soet, and has twice been featured as one of Mail and Guardian's top 200 young South Africans. He also won a Bronze Medal at the New York Festival for copy writing.

In film, he appeared in John Boorman's In My Country with Juliette Binoche, opposite Christopher Lambert in The Piano Player, in Crazy Monkey's Straight Outta Benoni and in Bunny Chow and Rainbow Skellums.

Louw has gone through a myriad of professions including copywriter, graphic designer, illustrator and eventually actor and writer.

He was one of the celebrity contestants on M-Net's Survivor South Africa: Santa Carolina, in 2010.

In 2014 he had a starring role as Francois le Roux, an idealist and a dreamer. He wanted to be a journalist but was caught in the rat race in Johannesburg working as an investment banker for the money to provide for his family, in the SABC2 drama series Swartwater.
