I had an opportunity to do a telephonic interview with Chinedu, the 3rd Housemate to be evicted out of the Big Brother Nigeria house and contrary to what we all thought about him, he is a very friendly and warm guy. He openly had a hot relationship with fellow housemate, Joan in the house and most people believed that played a big role in his early exit from the house.
He also denied some of the rumours that I have written about but my sources are very 'real" so I am sticking to my story...
Here's how the rest of the interview went...........
Brown Shuga :Chinedu, please tell us about your trip to SA, what has been the highlight of your trip so far??
Chinedu :Everything...it's been crazy, we've met lots of people, saw lots of places..We really appreciated the place. The outlay of the city (JHB) was just nice.
Brown Shuga : And the low point??
Chinedu : Too cold....
Brown Shuga : Oh, you guys don't have winter in Nigeria hey?
Chinedu : No
Brown Shuga : If you had to describe South Africa in one word, what would it be?
Chinedu : Beautifull
Brown Shuga : What did you think of our food, compared to Nigerian food??
Chinedu : I'd rather have Nigerian food...
Brown Shuga : Oh, I saw your expression when you tasted the dumbling at the dinner, you said no more?
Chinedu : Yeah Nigerian food is good.
Brown Shuga : How was the clubbing experience at Club Uhuru, I hear Gideon performed on Saturday night??
Chinedu : The club was good, though I expected a bit more..for example the size...I had heard a lot about it before so thought it would sit about 5 000 people...The fans were interesting though, it was good...
The reception for Gideon was also great.We did the dance that we did in the house for the Styl Plus Song - Imagine That, .and the people in the club knew the steps so it just made it obvious that they were watching the show. It was good.
Brown Shuga : Would you like to comment on the rumours that the organisers of your trip to SA wanted to cut your trip short due to a lack of funds?
Chinedu : I don't think they wanted to cut the trip short, it was pre-arranged. We just wanted to spend more time in SA to do shopping and meet the people. We had nothing to do during the week back home so we decided to stay in SA and there was no problem.
Brown Shuga : Mh mh...So I got wrong info?
Chinedu : I think so....
Brown Shuga : Mh Mh Mh...moving right along, After you left the house, you recorded a very HOT song about Big Brother, are you working on releasing a full album?
Chinedu : Yes, I am ...I've done about 11 songs so far. Six were done before I went into the house, I just need to do 4 more and I will select the best from there.
Brown Shuga : Will you be featuring any of your housemates on the album?
Chinedu : Yeah, I will discuss with anyone who is interested. Maybe we can even do a compilation of the housemates' songs in one album.....
Brown Shuga : Just for the record, I think you're really dope as an MC, I really enjoyed your rapping in the house...though you didn't do much of it. It was like you wanted to keep us guessing??
Chinedu : Oh Yeah, thanks. I think that was the case. I'll arrange to send you a CD when I get home next week...
Brown Shuga : Ooooohhhh that would be awesome and hopefully I can get it played on one of our radio stations...
Chinedu : Really? We must talk about that!!..
Brown Shuga : Great, I believe you are also working on your website, which is expected to be really awesome??
Chinedu : I can't tell you about it yet it's a secret but I hope to have it up and running by the end of next month...Watch this space
Brown Shuga : So, are you and Joan still together?
Chinedu : She's sitting right next to me, you wanna say hi?
Brown Shuga : Later, let's finish the interview first, you know what I mean. Are you guys still "together"????
Chinedu : Definitely
Brown Shuga : When I first met you I was shocked. You are much nicer in person than you were on Big Brother, why is that? Did you deliberately put on an act for the show?
Chinedu : Oh Really?? No, I don't really know how to explain it but when you put human beings under certain circumstances, it will affect them somehow so maybe I didn't know how to react, it might have been a psychological thing..
Brown Shuga : What was the biggest surprise for you outside, after you'd left the house?
Chinedu : I'm not sure..everything was just awesome . The response I got from the outside, I was not aware that so many people were watching and even when we got to South Africa we still had the same level of response, it was great
Brown Shuga : So can we expect you back in SA soon??
Chinedu : Definitely....we'll be back here some time. Most of us are talking about it...
Brown Shuga : You guys are flying back home tomorrow morning (30/06/2006)so what are the plans for tonight, how are you going to wrap up the visit?
Chinedu : I'm not sure yet. We're now at Sandton City, taking lots of pictures and we might just go out for drinks later and you're also invited!
Brown Shuga : Thank you...I'll be there!

Brown Shuga :Ooh that is so sweet!! A sensitive man...there aren't many of those around..
Chinedu : (Laughs)
Brown Shuga : What is the one thing that you can't live without?
Chinedu : Nothing , I get over stuff like that
Brown Shuga : What inspires you?
Chinedu : Everything and everybody around me...I write a lot so I am inspired by the things that I see around me and people that I meet. I may see something and it may inspire me for a poem, a song or a story that I am writing.
Brown Shuga : Anything else that you want to tell us about Chinedu that we don't already know??
Chinedu : Nothing at this stage but you will know more when my website is up...
