Survivor strikes again
GRAB THE remote control, clear your schedule and get ready for the moment all true Survivor fans have been waiting for: the next installment of one of the most successful reality series ever starts tonight on SABC3 at 7.30pm.
This time around 18 contestants are broken up into two teams, Nakum and Yaxha, and will have to survive on barely anything in Guatemala.
As always, you have to wonder where on earth the producers found these contestants. Ranging from farmers and real estate agents to a nurse and several models, the mix of people is bound to throw up lots of drama.
Especially as two very popular contestants from last season’s Survivor Palau, Stephenie La Grossa and Bobby Jon Drinkard, are back for a second stab at the million bucks offered as prize money to the winner.
Survivor is tough, but any avid watcher knows that the physical discomfort suffered due to harsh conditions is little compared to the psychological, intellectual and emotional turmoil each and every contestant faces during their time away from their own lives.
Back-stabbing, treachery and a very thin line between “playing the game” and losing your sense of morality is part and parcel of playing Survivor.
For those of you who think you have what it takes, there has been a call for entries for the very first Survivor, to be filmed in Panama, with South African contestants.
