Please note: We didn't publish these November viewing figures last year because the Broadcast Research Council didn't release them. They've only just released them now.

Special notes

20h00 Real Estate

Talk about a turbo charge! The Estate elbowed out Skeem Saam to become SABC1's No. 3 show for the first time since it premiered on the channel in September last year.

This viewership increase happened for an episode that aired in the Generations timeslot at 20h00 on Monday 1 November.

SABC1's prgramming was pushed later by half an hour because of the channel's elections coverage earlier in the day.

The impact: The Estate's viewership almost doubled, increasing from 2,305,292 viewers in October (in its regular timeslot of 19h30), to a hardcore 4,239,963 viewers in November - an increase of 84%.

Viewership normalised in December where it only aired in its regular timeslot.

On S3, The Estate Omnibus took the channel's No. 1 position for the first time, although viewership declined from its record ratings on the channel last month, decreasing from 625,717 viewers in October to 597,534 viewers in November.

Volume turned down on Idols

The Idols 17 ratings continued the season's low note throughout November to the extent that the penultimate episode attracted more viewers than the actual finale.

The penultimate episode was watched by 753,367 viewers and last year's finale attracted 1,207,074 viewers, a 38% decrease of 453,707 viewers.
