Now is a perfect time to escape the world for an all-expenses paid trip with the local reality competish The Ultimate Braai Master.
It was last on our screens in 2019 for an award winning Season 6 on e.tv, which followed immediately after Season 5.
Season 6 won the SAFTA for Best Reality Competition last year and we presume a new season would have followed immediately after if it weren't for the pandemic.
Flash forward to 2021 >> and production is on for Season 7, with the return of series creator Justin Bonello as host.
Former MasterChef SA foondi's Benny Masekwameng and Pete Goffe-Wood return to judge and applications are open.
If you'd like to apply, this is what you need to know:
The format
The series is a braaing cookery challenge featuring teams of two who travel to different parts of the country and compete against each other by cooking different dishes on an open flame.
During the road trip, teams are expected to cook to a standard of culinary excellence that shatters the stereotype of the kinds of meals that can be produced on an open fire.
Teams are expected to occasionally catch their own food and source their own ingredients under the toughest conditions.
One team is eliminated each week.
The prize
Up to R1-million, other unconfirmed prizes and the title of Ultimate Braai Master.
Entry must knows
- You must be 18 years of age or older on 1 April 2021,
- You must be living in South Africa as a legal resident,
- You must not have been convicted of any offence, or be subject to any court order, relating to assault, violence, sexual misconduct or harassment; and
- You need to submit a short video of you and your team member.
Closing date for applications: 23h59 SAST on 7 May 2021
If your application is successful you'll be invited for a face-to-face online audition with the production.
