Newsflash: Twin Viggy Qwabe withdraws from Idols!

So that's it on the twins front.

Both are out of Idols 15. Believe it! Mzansi Magic has confirmed the news to TVSA.

Viggy Qwabe has withdrawn from the competition. She hasn't specified why exactly but it's obvious it's because of her twin sister Virginia's elimination last night and the fact that they've said they're "in this together".

According to Mzansi Magic, her decision was made last night during a meeting after the show involving the twins, their family, the Idols producers and the channel.

This turn of events means that voting lines have closed early this week and there won't be an elimination this Sunday (27 October).

Viggy made this post on Facebook last night after the meeting:

Interesting that Viggy mentions her father in her post, and also that the family were at the meeting.

I've seen their father quoted in stories about the twins so I'm wondering if there isn't a "marketable commodity" going on too.

I'm sure it would have been very difficult for them to be apart for the rest of the show but I also wonder if their father and them see their twin status as being more "sellable" performance wise if they're together instead of apart.

They were actually on the wrong competition, they should have been on SA's Got Talent as a team.

Not that it exists anymore but you know.

PS: Also, if both were eliminated by viewers, it could impact on their duo career negatively but with only one being voted out, they still maintain a sense of popularity.

The more I think about it, the more convinced I am that it's a purely strategic move.
