Umlilo open casting call for Season 4

Cool news for Umlilo addicts... there are more episodes on the horizon after Season 3 because it's already been renewed for Season 4.

And the search is on for two characters to join the cast. Specifically: a younger Cebisile and Mnqobi lookalike.

e.tv and series producers Quizzical Pictures are looking for two Zulu speakers to play the younger versions of Cebisile and Mnqobi on the next season.

The two candidates must be Zulu speaking, between the ages of 18 and 30 and bear a strong resemblance to Mnqobi and Cebisile Simelane. Applications have opened and close at midnight this Saturday (21 May).

You can apply by uploading a picture of yourself to the show's casting platform here: Umlilo casting - you'll find a form to fill in on the site. This is the first phase of the casting so you'll be required to demostrate your acting ability if you make it through to the next round based on your looks.

But why does it say that casting has closed when its still 11:27 am on the 21st of May and you specifically posted that casting closes at midnight on the 21st of May??

Hi Lwandile - it's twilight zone stuff because this is the time given by e.tv in the casting brief. They must have been meaning the midnight between the 20th and 21st.

Hi sinothile, this is an overview of how things are working:

- People who get shortlisted are going to be contacted telephonically for interviews.
- The people selected from these interviews will then move on to the next phase which involves an in-person/video/telephonic audition, depending on where they're based. The audition will involve dialogue from the actual Umlilo scene.

The winners of the competition will be chosen after this audition phase and will be announced on 7 June.
