Quinton is berated by both a family member and a colleague, neither of whom achieve the desired result. Stokkies is too busy being a willing slave to heed a warning from Ndumiso. Mlungisi realises that his son is more open with a virtual stranger than he is with his own father.

Quinton is enraged by an ambush, and Lucas shares some information with Layla which disturbs her deeply. A new piece of furniture is the cause of some conflict, and Stokkies makes a decision about his life. It becomes clear that a relative of Mlungisi's is not quite as at ease with himself as he makes out he is.

Layla is told the truth about a lie, and Quinton becomes the very public subject of potentially harmful speculation. Stokkies lands an amazing windfall, but is conflicted about it. Mlungisi is stunned when his children exhibit very uncharacteristic behaviour. Anzani receives an honour which many journalists dream of.

Zinzile finds evidence of drug use, and a young man seeks comfort in the arms of a former lover. Dintle's plans are curtailed by someone's refusal to play ball with her. Mlungisi tries to compete with his brother and the result is not what he expects. Eddie is congratulated on a major achievement.

Quinton finds himself at the receiving end of some bitter anger, and Layla is made an offer which is both tempting and terrifying. Stokkies is thrilled and surprised when he gets a taste of hero worship, but his surprise causes him to cross a line. Mlungisi is offered some advice, but stops listening to it too soon.

Layla has her mothering instincts challenged by someone she respects, and Mangi suffers a crisis of conscience. Stokkies finds himself on the horns of a moral dilemma involving a large sum of money. Mlungisi believes he is finally on a winning streak and is determined to keep moving forward.

Layla is fooled into believing that all is well, and Mangi has no idea that he could be in grave danger. Stokkies compromises himself, but it appears that it will all work out for the best for him. The Ngema family are flummoxed by some unusual behaviour.

Layla makes a confession and arrives at The Newtonian to a terrifying sight. Stokkies reveals something about his past which he does not know how to deal with in the present. Mlungisi is sad when a member of his family leaves, but not because he is going to miss them.

An unexpected death creates a serious problem for those present. Stokkies decides to be honest, which leads to him feeling even more guilty. Scelo and Lindiwe realise that they badly misinterpreted a situation, resulting in hurt for a member of their family.

Layla has devastating news for someone at NFH and cannot reveal the one piece of information which might comfort them. Stokkies decides that the only way out of a situation is to remove himself from it completely. Mlungisi finds a letter which makes him very emotional.

Layla's grief is compounded by guilt, and she is stunned when she is confronted with a fact that was meant to be a secret. Stokkies believes he has to lie to someone he really likes for their own good. Lindiwe changes her mind about something she was hoping for when she realises how it is likely to turn out.

Dintle is caught out in a serious lie and is reminded that she is still deeply indebted. Stokkies is also caught out in a deception, but his situation has a more positive outcome. Lindiwe realises she may be disappointed and takes steps to ensure that she isn't.

A rift develops between parent and child, and former lovers cannot get beyond a revelation. Stokkies makes a big decision, the outcome of which leaves him very emotional. Lindiwe has high hopes for her birthday.

Dintle is far from happy when a couple comes to her and Mangi's rescue, and Lucas's attempts at burying a hatchet are rebuffed. Stokkies is surprised to see someone he thought he would never see again, and Gloria jumps to the wrong conclusion at work. Lindiwe takes control of her own life, but it's not as easy as she thought it would be.
