And the role of Rhythm City's new character Nomalanga goes to....
Nomalanga!
22-year-old Durbanite, radio DJ and PR graduate Nomalanga Jessica Shozi has landed the role in
Rhythm City's open auditions.
The auditions ran online for a week and
12 finalists were chosen before the final decision was made this week.
Nomalanga (in real life) already has a measure of fame and clout. She DJ's for Gagasi FM, she's known as "The Flame" and she was featured by
Destiny last year in a feature on her style.
She's also a Rhythm Cityzen who has this to say about her casting:
“I have always had a dream to be an actress and now I’ve been given the opportunity of a lifetime, to appear on Rhythm City with some of my personal heroes. I watch Rhythm City every day, and can’t wait to start this phase of my life.”
Nomalanga (on the show) is Zolani’s fiancé and the daughter of a mining magnate and struggle veteran. She starts filming in early May and debuts on Wednesday, 13 July.
