Gabriel: back on Isidingo as ...?

He's been in jail for his crimes against Aphiwe and he's returning to the Deep soon.

Pastor Gabriel (Aubrey Poo) makes his Isidingo comeback at the beginning of May and he's been reformed. Apparently.

According to Isidingo's senior resident writer Athos Kyriakides: "He’s repented and he’s coming back a reformed man, or at least that’s what he’s telling everyone and people are trying to figure out whether he’s genuine or whether he’s still the same kind of con man."

In fact, he's gone through such a transformation that he's changed professions. His pastorship is history and he's reinvented himself as...? Your guess? Click here for the answer:

An insurance broker. This is what brings him back to the Deep - he's on a mission to sell policies to the miners so they're insured if something happens to them.

Does he have what it takes to be trustworthy? Would you trust him if he seemed genuine?

I think the writers reluctantly changed his personality following laments from viewers regarding him being a dogy pastor.

I don't know how I will take his transformation because I liked him as pastor Gabriel, especially when he would finish his remarks with "Amen". He was a,convincing con artist. A gifted actor Aubrey Poo is. Just what Isidingo needs vitally.

@Goku, I understand your concern and I have the same problem with Generations. In its heyday it had a truely SAn blend regarding its cast which was made up of different races, until the mid 2000s. In my view, the SABC as the public broadcaster should represent the diversity of our people through programming in all its channels.

Ended @show-Time, look the is eddie and charlie, barker and brad and also that steyn's gal, the rest is black nd by I am Njabulo Ngcobo a black person bt it wouldn't hurt 2 see a eddie's brother/sister on the set, brad's mother whom later we will find out he had an affiar with barker jst 2 twist the storyline nd balance the gender iquality.

@Goku and Showtime I think the idea with this show is to attract more black viewers esp young viewership.black twitter found Eddie and his wife boring so she disappeared from the show .isidingo and its associate resident writer have being answering our questions on twitter lately .that's why we a having a young and mostly black cast .
