Old and busted: Clarkson. New hottness: seven new presenters

Top Gear revved-up its engines today with the announcement of the new crew of petrol heads who are revamping the series now that Bully Clarkson and his cronies are gone.

Jeremy Clarkson was fired last year, Richard Hammond and James May flounced with him and now the show has confirmed the line-up of new presenters who will join British broadcaster Chris Evans.

Chris took the wheel of the series in June last year as the official replacement to Clarkson and the BBC has been searching for the rest of his crew since then.

This is who they've decided on...

Matt

F.R.I.E.N.D.S. star and car addict Matt LeBlanc, who holds the record for driving the fastest ever lap in Top Gear's Star in a Reasonably Priced Car segment.

Eddie

Motorsport guru and Formula 1 commentator Eddie Jordan who comes armed with a trademark no-nonsense, experienced view of the motoring world, and life in general. Eddie, who was born in Dublin, has flirted with cars all his life, and as owner of the former Jordan Grand Prix team gave many of the world’s most iconic drivers their first taste of the most powerful and loudest starting grid on the planet including Michael Schumacher, who made his debut for Jordan in 1991, and Eddie Irvine.

Sabine

Sabine Schmitz, the Queen of the Nurburgring and Top Gear's first female presenter in 15 years. She's a familiar face to Top Gear fans following her appearances in Seasons 5 and 11.

Rory

Newcomer Rory Reid who was recruited from the show’s 2015 public auditions. He's an award-winning journalist and has launched and presented for CNET’s Car Tech channel. He also had a starring role in Sky 1’s Gadget Geeks series.

Chris

Motoring journalist Chris Harris who sends shivers through many car manufacturers' boardrooms. He comes armed with a self-confessed determination to cause mischief and to tell viewers insightful things about cars that they probably didn’t even think they needed to know.

The You-know-who

The Stig will also be back of course. He might not be new but he's always phresh.

The new season starts on BBC Brit in May.
