Signature Telemundo hottie David Chocarro takes on deception, crime and the aftermath of being bullied in an upcoming new telenovela The Face of Destiny.

It premieres on Monday, 14 December at 16h20, replacing Part of Me when it ends, and follows the story of Martin Méndez, played by Daviiiiid.*

Martin has been in prison for 20 years when the series starts. He was jailed for killing seven people in a shooting rampage while he was at school. The series begins with his early release, sparked by psychiatrist Antonia Villaroel, played Maritza Rodriguez aka luncatic Teresa Cristina on Husband For Hire.

Antonia organises Martin's early release and then decides to find out the truth about the killings.

More from the official synposis...

When Martin was younger, he was known as Diego Mercarder, a child who was bullied and harassed by his classmates. As a result of all the abuse, he suffered a breakdown and was encouraged by an unknown person to shoot seven of his schoolmates. He is found guilty and sentenced to prison for their murders.

After 20 years in jail, psychiatrist Antonia Villaroel - with the financial help of Ezequiel Alvarado (Saul Lisazo) - gets Martin an early release. Now with a new identity, he takes a job as a personal bodyguard to Ezequiel’s fiancée, Mariana (Elizabeth Gutiérrez), who is involved in a relationship with Ezequiel’s son Luciano (Jonathan Islas).

It’s here that Martin finds himself stuck in the middle of a maze of intrigue and betrayal, which becomes even worse when Antonia decides to find out the truth about the murders all those years ago.

*The correct way of pronouncing his name.

Flash fact: David used to be a professional baseball player.
