Goodbye 3Talk. Hello afternoon Expresso

Noeleen with Top Billing's Jonathan Boynton-Lee on Presenter Search on 3.

Noeleen wrapped the final episode of 3Talk this past Monday with a special farewell and now it's time to look to future afternoons. What will the vibe be on SABC3 at 16h00?

We've been scooping around for the skinny on what's replacing 3Talk and the confirmed details are sketchy because no new contracts have been signed yet - two weeks before the new show's supposed to start! SABC3 confirmed to us that there's a new South African show scheduled to start on Monday, 4 May but couldn't confirm the finer details because of the unsigned contract. So we've drawn our own conclusions.

Word from the channel is that the new show's different from Noeleen because they didn't want it to be seen as her replacement so it doesn't have a similar format  - it's going to be a mix of lifestyle/magazine/talk instead.

Which strongly suggests it's going to be an afternoon version of Expresso. It would make a lot of sense for the channel to do this - it would create the feeling that you wake up with the Expresso presenters and you wind down the day in a similar vibe with other SABC3 personalities in the afternoon.

There's been a rumour doing gossville that Jeannie D and Bonang are associated with the show which completes the picture because both Expresso and Top Billing are made by Tswelopele Productions so they must be producing it too.

As for what it should be called... any suggestions? All we can think of is Chocolate (what we always want at that time of the afternoon).

I am really getting bored with Tswelopele productions producing everything on SABC 3 .its time they gave other production houses a chance to come up with fresh content .Bonang and Jeannie D will be hosting again .therefore repeating the same thing over and over gain .

Really????????? If its not Bonang, its Minnie or Pearl Thusi, argh we are getting tired of watching magazine shows, we want something so new and so vibrant and catchy into the eye. Expresso, Top Billing and Passella are so similar, we want new faces......
