Ricardo is mugged and badly beaten on his way home. Bruno reveals to Cecilia that he has Elisa and that he intends on telling all to Commissar Rivas.

Cecilia finds a pair of Bruno’s shorts covered with blood - he tells her that Elisa wounded him. Cristobal locates where Bruno burnt the ransom money.

Bruno is terrifed because he believes Elisa will blame him for her ordeal, but Briceño finds a letter written by Elisa asking for forgiveness.

Cecilia tries to talk with Elisa but she is interrupted by a nurse who asks her to leave. Elisa’s letter could prove Mariano’s innocence and free him.

Bruno tells Cecilia that he does not want to take any more pills. Eduardo wants to visit Elisa but Cecilia reminds him she is in intensive care.

Bruno asks Cecilia if she was the one who shot at Elisa. Cecilia and Bruno arrive at the hospital to discover that Elisa is now in a coma.

Cristobal tells Gisela that whatever Danna and he had is now over. Cecilia informs Bruno that she will return to work at the office.
