The 2014 BET Awards took place in Hollywood on Sunday night (29 June) and were titled the "Black World Cup" by Chris Rock who injected his usual wit and humour into the ceremony as host.

The ceremony didn't air live on BET in Africa - it will air in a delayed broadcast on StarSat this Tuesday (1 July) at 22h00 (CAT).  Coverage starts with a red carpet build-up at 21h00.

If you're planning on watching and don't want to know who won before watching, please don't read on.

If you do want know, stay tuned ...

The ceremony put an exclamation mark on Davido's 2014 winning streak. The Nigerian hip hop artist won Artist of the Year at the MTV Africa Music Awards recently and snatched the BET for the Best International Act: Africa category. An unfortunate turn of events for South Africa's Mafikizolo who were in the category too.

The biggest winner of the night: Beyoncé, who won the coveted Best Female R&B/Pop category. She also won the FANdemonium award and Best Colloboration with Jay Z. She performed at the ceremony with him too - but not live - they performed a recorded performance which they sent from their On The Run Tour.

Without further adieu, the winners are:
