Did you know? Duma Ndlovu's Word of Mouth Pictures (who make Muvhango) is the official casting company for the Disney stage theatrical The Lion King.

They've been involved with the castings for a number years, holding auditions in different South African cities for different versions of the show. This year, they'll be casting their search to Cape Town as part of their annual audition process.

The Lion King's been on Broadway for 17 years and is also performed round the world in various countries including the UK (who have two companies), Spain, Germany, Brazil, Australia and the US, who have touring productions.

The auditions are for all of these companies i.e. if successful you'll join one of the companies in a specific country. Disney insist that there be South African singers in every production round the world.

Word of Mouth will be searching for singers in Cape Town in early July. Their call is for all singers between the ages of 18 and 30. It doesn't matter how little or how much experience you have.

The audition dates and venue are as follows:

Date: Friday, 4 and Saturday 5 July 2014

Extremely interested! Need more info, though. Time for auditions? And what do performers have to prepare?

Hi ArlinB ... the details: auditions start at 08h00 and run until 17h00 - you can go anywhere between these times. There's no need to prepare anything - they'll provide you with a song when you get there.
