Expect to see The Bold and the Beautiful's new Ridge on our screens round about December. Word from SABC3 is that this is more or less when he'll be arriving on the scene for us.
Ronn Moss, who played Ridge for 25 years left the soapie in 2012 and was replaced by All My Children alumnus Thorsten Kaye in October last year. He made his first appearance on Bold in the US in December.
Thorsten played casino owner Zack Slater on All My Children from 2006 to 2011 - when the soapie folded. While he doesn't have the chiselled angles of Ronn Moss, he's growing on us. We've been staring at his picture and he isn't too bad. It's always difficult (and often impossible) to get used to a different actor in a role - especially after 25 years - but he seems a good choice. He doesn't look anything like Ronn Moss which is good - lookalike replacements are much too cheesy.
When Ridge returns to the show it'll be because of Brooke of course. Ridge will return to LA in the hopes of reconciling with her and will be shocked (even though he shouldn't be) to discover that she's having an affair. He believes she's been waiting for him.
She'll be happy to see him but she's also having a good time affair-wise so he starts his comeback broken hearted.
