SAMA hit makers and MAMA nominees Mafikizolo.
e.tv will also be airing this weekend's MTV Africa Music Awards. But not live unfortunately. The ceremony airs live on MTV and MTV Base this Saturday (7 June) at 21h00 and e.tv will air it a week later, on Saturday, 14 June at 22h00.
Road to the MAMAs has been airing on e.tv too - on Saturdays at 15h30. It's currently also airing on MTV Base and covers the build-up to the awards in three cities. Each episode features musicians from the city and MAMA nominees in concert. These aired/air on e.tv on these dates:
Road to MAMAs - Durban - Saturday, 31 May at 15h30
Road to MAMAs- Dar Es Salaam Activation - Sunday, 1 June at 15h30
Road to MAMAs - Lagos Activation - Sunday, 8 June at 15h30
What Went Down - Saturday, 21 June at 15h30 (wrap)
So the awards are coming up this weekend in Durbs-by-the-sea and we'll be there. I'll be hotfooting through for us to gather the gossip, the dirrrrt, the pics. Go for a swim maybe. It's a three day shebang of meeting the nominees and so on so there should be time. I don't know if it's too cold to swim in Durban at this time.
Here's a rundown of the nominees again, in case you've missed them or want to browse them again:
