Did Black Coffee Get It Wrong?

With all the love and total admiration I have for Mzansi's most humble and talented dj, Black Coffee, I was over the moon to hear that he got props from Diddy. I'm talking Mr Diddy Dirty Money himself, the icon and legend who's been in the music industry for what seems like a century.

This is the Tweet that got me very excited!

So, to catch a glimpse of this life changing tweet from Diddy, I go through Black Coffee's TL (Timeline).

This was the only Tweet that resembled a compliment from Diddy. Reading it seems like a Retweet right?

So, I jump with excitement and check out Diddy's TL to trace the events that led to such a compliment. Afterall, Kanye West has scooped Nigeria's d'Banj and should Diddy's eyes be focused on Black Coffee, it's definitely a South African victory. Yoh, we love our artists who are putting the country on the international stage and we need to create all the necessary hype!

Alas, I didn't see the Tweet on the TL. Neither was Diddy following @RealBlackCoffee on his followers list, at the time of "investigation."

Ok, by now I'm confused. We know that Black Coffee was headlining the Miami Music Conference with other top Mzansi djs. So, Black Coffee was definitely in Miami. And from Diddy's TL, he too was in Miami. However, Black Coffee's tweet suggests they never met personally. So where did the Diddy tweet come from?

I don't know how this person is related to Diddy and Black Coffee, but before all the "Black Coffee-Diddy tweets", the dj thanked her.

Then there was Culoe's tweet, which was posted after Marriane's tweet and prior to Black Coffee's "Diddy Tweet."

Eish... What's going on here???

Could Diddy have deleted the tweet? Was Marriane's tweet taken out of context? Could Culoe's tweet also have been misunderstood? Could Diddy have DM'd Black Coffee?

I'm a biased Black Coffee fan and want to get to the bottom of this, so we can create the hype for Coffee's recognition. Afterall, this dj is hard-working and deserves ALL the props coming his way.

So, let's resolve this situation... What do you think happened here?

I saw the tweets. And my understanding was that after @iamdiddy tweeted that he will be in Miami, mariana tweeted him to checkout Black Cofee, assuming Diddy will be at the parties Black Coffee was Dj'ing at. And as more and more people RT, the original tweet kept on being edited giving the impression that Diddy had complemented him.

So I won't blame Black Coffee for thinking that @Diddy had complemented him. Not the first time something like this happens on twitter.

When Kim Kardashian announced her divorce from Kris, there was immediately a "hahahhahahahahahahahah" tweet from Reggie Bush. We immediately checked his timeline.....but there was nothing. And those who retweeted claimed that he had deleted it.

Shem poor Coffee looking at those tweets it looks like he got it all wrong :-(

We still luv him though and sure Diddy would be praise him if he got the chance to know about him and his work. Lets hope it will happen next time.

Vesa wayi explaina kak'hle lento yazi yah the tweet must have been edited to a point where it seemed like Diddy tweeted that, eish yazi. And I dont think Coffee thought about checking Diddy's timeline to trace the tweet to see if its actually Diddy praising him, phela last I checked Coffee was not a twitterholic.
