Strictly Come Dancing Winners Party

After a sensational finish to Strictly Come Dancing season 6 Wednesday night, which saw actress Zakeeya Patel and partner Ryan Hammond snatch the glitterball from runner ups Lalla Hirayama and Grant Estherhuizen, it was party time for everyone. Can I just say the place was celebrity-empty? My hunger for gossip was never satisfied at all. Saddest thing is not even a quarter of the contestants showed up.

Winners: Zakeeya Patel and Ryan Hammond

On the positive though, Zakeeya and Ryan were there looking happy. I was wondering why the other contestants did not show up and someone said they went back to their lives. Professional dancers are back with their partners and celebs have gone back to work. Nevertheless, we had great food, a flowing bar and great music.

Rapid Blue MD Kee-Leen Irvine and funnyman Marc Lottering

Marc Lottering kept us giggling the whole night with his funny jokes and Damon Kalvari was just a golden addition to the mix. That man is a comic and he doesn’t even have to speak.

Risuna with Damon Kalvari

SABC 3 Marketing Manager Risuna Mayimele has assured us that Season 7 of Strictly Come Dancing has been commissioned and will be announced in due course. Let’s hope they have more celebrities then. I would actually like to see the following celebrities battling it out: Zenade Mfenyana, Pearl Thusi, Jeanie D, Maps Maponyane and AKA. Who would you be happy to see in the next season?

But why didn't celebrities show up though. Yeah yeah they had to go back to their lives and dancers back to the dance floor but it all smacks of sore losers if you asked me
