Avatar fanatics, brace yourselves for sequels. Director James Cameron is currently working not on one, not two but three sequels to the film.

The 2009 Jim film netted just over 2 billion US dollars at the box office worldwide making it the best grossing film ever made. Also, the Blue-Ray DVD is also the bestselling DVD of all time.

Usually with sequels, they have a way of disappointing. As an avatar fan, I am hoping the three sequels will be just as enthralling if not getting better and better and better. I just had to ensure I say better three times because each has to be better than the other.

I think I am seeing a Harry Potter trend here. Uhm, as I was saying, yes, Jim, as his cast and crew affectionately call him on the Blu-Ray behind the scenes, is excited about working on the three sequels to the film.

The budget for the sequels is said to be at 1 billion US dollars.

The film is about humankind’s relationship with nature. A young paraplegic “soldier”, Jack Sully, played by Sam Worthington, goes on a mission in Pandora to live among the avatars, gain their love and trust. Pandora boasts the best diamonds there can ever be. The plan is that when humans come to Pandora wanting to mine the diamond, Jack should be able to convince them to leave. However, when Jack Sully gets to Pandora, he falls in love not just only with the beauty of nature and the planet but also with a princess, Neytiri, played by Zoe Saldana.

After a series of dramatic events, it comes out that Jack is actually on a mission but he has a tough time convincing the natives that he no longer sides with the people of the sky after falling in love. A war erupts between avatars and people of the sky.

The film is a five star film with very perfect scenes that you cannot help but just love. The Blu-Ray, consisting of 4 discs and costs R600.00, takes you through the journey of Avatar and how humans were transformed into avatars.

I am looking forward to 2016 and I can already feel the long wait.
