The Apprentice, Truth And Trolls

Going behind The Facade
FEATURE

I recently watched the E! True Hollywood Story of The Apprentice on E! - I couldn't watch the whole thing because after featuring the first series of the show it moved onto the second and I didn't want to see anything about that.

With it being a True Story and everything I was hoping for juicy, never-before-seen footage from The Apprentice, but unfortunately it didn't happen.

The show recapped the plot of The Apprentice and in between featured interviews with The Donald, Micky B and some of The Apprenti looking back on it.

The most impressive of everyone was definitely Heidi. She looked really excellent, particularly because when she was explaining why she'd applied for the show she said it was because she was bored at work and that her previous manager had been a total loser.

She said she wouldn't say his name and that he'd know who he was and then she did a lot of face pulling and signed Loser across her forehead. It was brilliant, because she was obviously speaking about someone in the real world and I would soooo love to know what he did when he saw/heard.

So Heidi was really interesting and Omarosa was totally appallingly crazy. Backwards and forwards, Omarosa and Ereka gave their versions of the whole Ereka-being-a-racist-thing, with Omarosa saying that Ereka had called her the "N" word.

There was a whole to-ing and fro-ing after the show happened in the US which started with Omarosa going onto a morning tv show called The View and saying this had happened. Later Ereka went on to defend herself. Then both were invited onto Oprah and Ereka said Oprah asked her if she'd called Omarosa this word and she replied by saying: "If you knew me you'd know..." and then said Oprah cut her off and didn't let her answer.

Heidi said Oprah turned the whole thing into Jerry Springer.

Ereka went onto Howard Stern's show and from what I could work out took a lie detector test (real or not?) which said she was telling the truth. Omarosa said this proved nothing because Howard Stern was one of the most sexually and racially charged men in the country and that she forgave Ereka and had put the experience behind her. Ha!

Troy said that Omarosa claimed she hadn't been called the "N" word but that what happened had been a very similar thing, ie. when Ereka said she was a pot calling the kettle black.

The thing I found so interesting is that they quoted figures about the show. When it started episode one had 18 million viewers and episode 2 had 20 million. For episodes 10 and 11 - that came just after Omarosa left - viewership dropped by 2.5 million.

Throughout the interviews Omarosa went on and on about the dreadful living conditions during the show, ie. no food, she couldn't take a tinkle, she was tired and sick, she preferred using the men's toilets because the women were so gross, etc - painting herself as the victim of their brutal producery ways.

But then she said:

"America loves a villain, they love to see excitement, they love to see someone pushing the envelope and that's what I did and it was fun doing it."

Have we been trolled by Omarosa? Does she actually know just how appallingly beastly she is (as trolls do) and how does this link up with the 2.5 million viewer drop?

And - how hectic for the producers. I mean - if she's really like she is with them too and they had to deal with her while at the same time seeing how juicy she was - what do you do?! How do you cope with someone who's a total arsehole and popular? Hit her over the head!! With cement from a building that's falling down.

Apparently it was a sound boom that hit the ceiling and caused bits to fall down - everyone said it couldn't possibly have hurt her except Amy, who said she could see Omarosa's point and that she could have been a bit hurt but that she'd used it in the game and manipulated it and that was wrong. The Donald also mentioned if he'd kept her another week he would have lost all his credibility.

All this sort of stuff I find sooo juicy - because what is the True Story really? Have we been trolled by Omarosa? Did she troll herself as well?

Other interesting bits were The Donald saying if he could have had his way he would have chosen 20 super-models for the show. Micky B was there as well, looking as delishly suntanned as ever and Carolyn - she looked soooo different from how she looked in the show. She looked ghostly in the show and yet she has a super blush and I definitely see why she looks like Princess Di.

As for Nick and finding him handsome - it wasn't a deep overwhelming feeling or anything - it's just that while watching him talk the thought occurred to me and this freaked me out, because during the show I didn't give the time of day at all because he was so Salesman.

I'm not gonna take this too seriously though because as I said - it was very momentary and it's all over so I don't have to worry about it while watching.
