Prepare for news that will either thrill you or drive you over the edge into insanity ...

*Drum roll*

They said it would never happen and now it has. Big Brother South Africa's b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-back! (11 "b"s - you'll see why now.)

It's going to be called Big Brother Mzansi and will be produced by Mzansi Magic.

Word from M-Net is that they've had so many requests for it they've decided it was time for it to return. Eventually. 11 years after Season 2 ended. It beats the Strictly Come Dancing abyss by six long years.

There's no word on how to enter nor what the cash is yet but I'll keep you posted natch.

It moves in in January 2014.

@Cnglemother ...  BBA has that clash of cultures thing going for it that tramps other BBs around the world.  But BBSA should be good to satisfy the SA audience that feels left out by evictions like Koketso's they feel they have no control over. Also hopefully eliminate claims that Africa hates South Africa because they'll have a choice of BBs to watch.  As long as BBA comes on schedule next year, that's the one I'll be waiting for.

Really interesting name choice: Big Brother Mzansi, or BBM, like the social network.

I like!
That I'll watch .  I find I'm bored with BBA.  AM not watching at all this year.

@Cheesa ... most countries in Africa are diverse.  My country Kenya is diverse.  So, while I realise BBSA is not for me and other non SAs (won't be watching), I was saying its a good thing for SA to have their own show so the complaints on the BBA  forums about "Africa having it in" for SA stop.  It's not the Olympics so it shouldn't be considered a national sport.  Meanwhile, Multichoice can continue to produce BBA for the rest of Africa.  If I remember correctly, some SAs wanted out of BBA, so this could work out well for all and everybody wins.

A@Cheesa people from different pronvinces representing all ..actually I was thinking gore they should take a guy and chick from each province and have 18 contestants in all. That way it will be good and they should make sure all South African cultures are in the house.
