The nomination list for the 55th Grammy Awards is finally out and it seems that the new blood have taken over.
New York indie-rockers,fun., are leading the pack with six nods. They scored nominations in the Big Four (Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best New Artist). fun. also scored nominations in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for We Are Young and Best Pop Vocal Album for Some Nights.
Gotye, who seems to be fun.'s main rival is nominated alongside fun. in three categories. He also scored a nod for Best Alternative Music Album for Making Mirrors.
Rockers, The Black Keys and Jack White, each made a splash in both Album of the Year and Best Rock Album. Unlike his fellow nominees, White is no newcomer to the Album of the Year category as he was previously nominated as a member of The White Stripes.
Another artist who made a splash is Frank Ocean, who is the favourite to take away Album of the Year come February. He is alo in the running for Best New Artist and Record of the Year for Thinkin' Bout You.
Fellow R&B star, Miguel- who was snubbed last year, is nominated for Song of the Year and Best R&B Performance for his #1 single Adorn.
Other nominees include Beyonce (Best Traditional R&B Performance- Love on Top), Trey Songz (Best R&B Song- Heart Attack) and Hugh Masekela (Best World Music Album for Jabulani).
