Idols gets tougher

Friday evening I attended the pre-recording of the Idols Top 8 show at the Mosaiek Teatro. I must say, I didn’t know that the recordings are so popular until I was stuck in a 30-minute traffic jam of about less than 2 km’s.

I was also excited about James Blunt perfoming - only to find out he is not doing ‘You are beautiful’. I actually realised when he was on stage that it's is actually the only song I know of his *sigh*.

I'm sure you all watched the show On Sunday so I'll skip the performances. However the only thing I have to say is its becoming increasingly clear that Dave and Fred are going to the finals.

Although my two favourites Lefa and Crushanda give us the best every week I doubt the public votes will be enough to keep them until the finals.

We made our way to the media room after the show, and as I entered I spotted Weza of Big Brother Amplified fame. She told me she travels between SA and Angola, when I asked if she is based here full time.

She looks slimmer, she told me she has started an exercise program because she gained a lot of weight in the house. I take back all the nasty things I said about her during BBA, she's actually a very nice girl.

Also spotted Adeleine from last season, she is currently working on an album that she will be releasing next year.

The Top 8 arrived and I ran to Lefa first, to ask for a pic and to congratulate him on a superb performance.

Then Kelly, whom I think, although she was better this week, I still think she can do better. She was saved by the judges last week - let's see if we get the real Kelly back.

Then Crushanda - I think she is the strongest female vocalist in the competition.

I struggled to get a pic of Mark alone because people kept pulling him and chatting to him. Please people hle, can we like give others a chance and not keep the stars of the moment too long to yourselves? The people shall share ...

Then it was Dave, all I could say was: ‘see you in the finals’.

I chatted a bit with Dene. I didn’t like the comment from Chanté Moore about her looking older than 16. NXA!
Loved her shoes ...

Dene says she has taken time off school and they will be using her 1st term and 2nd term marks for this year. She also told me that she will be pursuing a career in music. Ive actually forgotten if she said she's in grade 10/11, blame it on the free wine.

Fred had already gone ... wonder if it had to do with the incident last week. I wish him a speedy recovery.

As for Chante Moore telling people to shoosh coz she is talking? Calm down sisi, ga se mo states mo.

Where are James and Chante then? I was so heartbroken not to have gone there due to unforeseen circumstances LOL.

My favourites are Lefa, Crushanda, Mark & Dave.. Lefa is at the top of my list.

Wish you included your views on the performances. I missed it last night, will try to catch a repeat tonight. Hope Lefa did not disappoint.

I hv actually voted for Lefa 6 times bt my target is 15, I am recruiting evry1 i know to sms 05 to 37400 so tht he can gt as many votes as he can.

Hope Lefa did not disappoint.

But she does look older than 16! Chante Moore is a musician and she was giving constructive feedback.....unlike Gareth & Unathi who keep praising the contenstants even the ones that sing bad! Randall also gives good feedback

My worst performance for the night were Erin and Kelly. Vocally Dene is good but she juss bores me.

Lol Makisto I think people like Kuli had backstage pass or VVIP pass, I'm not sure if I was allowed to. The media room I went to was after the show and I never saw Chante Moore there

Spending 3 months in a house with strangers doing absolutely nothing has made Weza a celebrity of sorts???
What exactly is she contributing to society?
enough of these plastic celebs.
What is she shuttling between Angola and Mzansi for?
she should go back home,i can't see the talent in her that we are importing.
