Season 1 winner Sdumo Mtshali, with host Kenneth Nkosi.

The stage is being set for the upcoming premiere of the second season of the reality show Class Act.

As spilt on TVSA last week, the series starts on SABC1 on Saturday, 23 April 2011.

A flash wrap of the news so far, in case you've missed it:

* The show is searching for two winners this season: a guy and a girl so auditions are open to everyone over the age of 18.

* TVSA blogger Phil "Blaqueboi" Mphela will be a field presenter on the show, and the online face of the series. He'll be covering the action on TVSA and on his website www.philmphela.com.

* The series will be on twice weekly: the competition performance shows will be on Saturday nights, with a Results Show on Mondays.

Between now and the premiere, the show will be going on two nationwide tours: the first is a series of training workshops for hopefuls who want to enter the show and the second is the auditions.

The training sessions begin this week and the auditions begin in March. We'll keep you posted on the audition times and venues closer to the time.

The training sessions

The training workshops are happening in Cape Town, Jozi, Pretoria and Durban and provide the space to prepare for the auditions so that you have a good idea of what will be expected of you.

Various mentors from the TV, entertainment and acting industry are running the sessions to provide you with practical acting and presentation tips for the auditions.

You'll be able to choose and prepare your audition piece, and get advice on how to impress.

The workshops start at 9am daily.

((comes back after actually reading the article))

Oh.. so its the trainings that are happening now.

Aowa man this stereotypical behaviour of holding auditions in 3 provinces is so marginalizing.Yeah they can talk about logistics nton nton but what they are doing is absolutely not fair at all.

This year's show was supposed to be grooming a leading lady.By the way is Sdumo's movie out yet or still in the pipeline?

3 venues in Soweto? No, no, no Joburg is big - there is Tembisa big on its own; Alex big on its own, areas like Diepsloot etc. More venues please!

Eish, Mara how come North West is always excluded, its like none excisisting. Ive never ever heard of an audition to be held anywhere in North West. One always have to drive to Joburg or Pta for auditions which is unfair.
