New on Mzansi Magic this December, 2010:

The Making Of
Premiere date: Thursday, 2 December 2010 at 21h00

A new documentary series that provides insight into the full story behind the careers of the country's most successful and respected groups, artists and entrepreneurs.

Headlining the premiere: TKZee.

More about what we can expect from the episode:"The group has a lineage that few contemporary acts can match: as much Kwaito innovators as music risk-takers; as much powerful solo creative forces as they are a group, TKZee continue to fascinate a full 13 years after they first shot to prominence with hits like Palafala and Shibobo."

For more about the series, see: TVSA's The Making Of Mini-Site.

Opening Guys
Premiere date: Wednesday, 8 December 2010 at 20h30

kagiso_lediga_large

A new 13-part reality show, hosted by comedian Kagiso Lediga. Now a headline act, Kagiso was once an Opening Guy too.

The series looks at the tension, the drama, the exhilaration and the teachings that come from taking the opening slot before a headline comedian.

It’s Lediga’s job to be the voice of reason and the guide to the emerging talents who are tasked with holding the stage before an audience who really only wants to see the big-name star.

Intimately following the experience of 13 different comedians who are making a play for the big-time, as well as putting Lediga in the opening guy slot for one episode, “Opening Guy” is about seeing who can get laughs immediately and who can dig deep to find the courage to get onto the stage again, should the audience boo.

Episode one sees Lediga prepare for a performance at the legendary Royal Albert Hall in London whilst the first of the “opening guys”, Mongezi Ngcobondwane prepares for a show. Also known as Toll Mo, Mongezi is a protégé of Loyiso Gola.
