So last night was the final episode of the Ekasi: Our Stories series on ETV. I usually thought the saying went Save the Best for Last?
But what I and (I can speak for my other friends as well) were watching was definitely not the best, even some of the Nollywood movies are better than that. Ulibambe Lingashoni: The Curse was really bad; it was GPY (Giligidi Phantsi Yintsini) case.
Yes the storyline did possess some good elements like when Mkhozi was educating about how misunderstood Ndebele women are, and when Chiskop and Dreads talked about their future dreams and perseverance, but hay nkosi yami konk’okunye bingumsangano nje.
Firstly the acting was not parshash, you could see that these guys are acting, ne ba etsa sketch, then it was the two gorillas walking around the neighbourhood carrying guns and pointing them at everyone that was in front of them, that to me did not make sense. I mean how do you do that?
Then the part ka mfundisi and the sangoma with leggings and watching movies on his laptop. Then the same mfundisi was swearing and cursing, then the following day he was seen ebambisile and a bottle of black label.
Hay ETV really, nimoshile this time.
