When President Jacob Zuma, South Africa’s best known polygamist, fathered a love-child, it raised serious questions about his behavior - and the age-old practice of marrying more than one woman.

Traditionalists say polygamy prevents men from having affairs. That it prevents the spread of HIV. That it’s a gift from God.

Activists say polygamy is used by some as a smokescreen for promiscuity. That it conflicts with the government-endorsed HIV prevention campaign of one - boyfriend-one-girlfriend. That it degrades women.

3rd Degree asks: isn’t it time that this outdated sexist practice is ended once and for all?

Can someone tell me who these traditionalists are? I need to explain few things to them.

Activists say polygamy is used by some as a smokescreen for promiscuity.
Who are these activists?

For once I agree with Debra.

There is no such a thing called polygamy, it is way of legalizing cheating.
