the 4th annual SATMA(south african traditional music acheivers) awards were held on the 5th of june at the sibaya casino Imbizo hall.
the awards are designed to support mzansis local traditional music which is not widely supported at other local awards
the SATMAs were founded by Kzns MR W.D Goba
the launch was over a gala dinner with great traditional music,great food and some great people.
Long time Singer YVONNE CHAKA CHAKA was announced as the SATMAs new ambassador ,she looked lovely in a black beaded outfit.and Joe Mafela aka Sdumo is still the spokesperson.
well known personalitys who attended were Sophie Ndaba(queen generations) who was dressed in a cute tight fitting black dress she looked cute and is thinner then on tv,she was all smiles and freindly ..a real darling!!
Lesli Fong(Slu isidingo) Meshack Mavuso(vusi) both were freindly too and happily posed for pics,Madhuvha(Muvhango)who is down to earth and tinny and the chief from muvhango i just forgot his name Oops! and Menzi Ngubane (Ngamla gens) ok Menzi was a different story from the rest of the Chelebs..he arrived late the doors had already been closed and the event had started,he arrived with his wife and both looked rather pissed off and not in a good mood,his wife even snubbed onlooking female fans..please dont tag along with your husband if youll be in a sour mood!!
radio dj DA DIVA Kim Ncgobo looked fashionable in a sleak red and black dress she was her usuall bubbly self
the performances were good..Viva to traditional music!!
it was a well organised event..spending the friday night there was worth it
i cant wait for the final awards in october,hope there will be great goodie bags!!
