Have you noticed that at any given time the SABC1 viewership is well over 1million? Wonder what age group watches SABC1. What is the quality of viewership on SABC1? What I mean by that is what LSM does watch SABC1.

<<<<5) Last Say on Sunday (SABC3) 212,000>>>
I wish more people would watch this show, it's very nice. Have watched 2 episodes so far.

<<<Montana (SABC1) 3,647,000>>> Okay, I'm officially worried....what's wrong with me then coz I wrote this off with the first episode?
Hayi, I hope I remember to watch next week so I can see what the fuss is about.

I just watched an episode of Cutting Edge on SABC1.....i think the programme is about investigative journalism........I've never watched it b4, this was my first time..............they were celebrating their 1 year anniversary (that shocked me cause i've never heard about it)...........they claim to have an average of 7.9MILLION viewers per week............and i don't see this on these STATS...................and i'm confused more........with regards with these AR............

>>they claim to have an average of 7.9MILLION viewers per week............and i don't see this on these STATS<<

I would love to know where they got that figure from.  Unless the information I have is wrong, no South African show has ever attracted that number of viewers (at least not in the time I've been posting these stats on TVSA).

According to the figures I have, Cutting Edge got 1.25 million viewers during Week 17.  While there's the possibility that these figures could be wrong, I think it's more likely that Cutting Edge's claim is incorrect, especially given the huge discrepancy.

22 May 2009 14:57

haiye cutting edge is lying, they wanna tell me its watched by more people? even more than Generations??

Brown Shuga
22 May 2009 16:05

Maybe they meant 7.9 million viewers per year not per week.

mjj
22 May 2009 16:10

Per week BS............i recorded the program...........i was shocked..................if it's 1.25 per week, that means 7.9 per month is possible.............I'll watch the program again when i get home...........

belz
22 May 2009 16:19

who watches style by jury??????

Brown Shuga
22 May 2009 16:25

There's NO WAY they have more viewers than Generations. Please report back after watching mjj, i'm reporting them to the BCCSA for lying to the public.

tizoz
22 May 2009 16:52

who watches style by jury??????

4) Style By Jury (e.tv) 1,332,000 -

belz
22 May 2009 16:57

lol tizoz, i mean which people, lol maan, im so shocked, that programme irritates me, etv needs to bring back friends, i dotn care if its the 300th repeat, and Bekker on Sunday's That My name is Elle, is a crap comedy, its not evne funny!!~!!!

tizoz
22 May 2009 16:59

etv needs to bring back friends - careful what you ask for Belz you know this statement might be interpreted as a popular demand request......

belz
22 May 2009 17:04

Vele tizoz, it is popular demand request!!!!!! i know you have got lots to do with this, thats why im doing this lol, watch the figures once you bring back friends, double this style by jury thing, i tell yah. especially seeing as i cant afford the friends box, i rely completely on etv.

HARAMBE24
22 May 2009 17:20

BS/MJJ: GENERATIONS has around 5 million viewers per night...that means its 20 mil per months! So cutting edge is not more popular than gen.

BS: i can email you somethings if you want?

Brown Shuga
22 May 2009 17:28

Sure Harambe. I wanda what it is that makes u ask 4 permission this time. Abt Gen, cutting edge ar claiming that a single epi is watched by 7 million, which is more than Gen's 5 million per episode.

Brown Shuga
22 May 2009 17:54

Cit, cud u plz find out how many people watch Coca Cola Soccerzone, monday nites n SABC1? Thanx.

mjj
22 May 2009 18:04

BS/MJJ: GENERATIONS has around 5 million viewers per night...that means its 20 mil per months! So cutting edge is not more popular than gen......................i don;t recall disputing nor questioning Generations numbers...................................so maybe your comment did not need to be directed to me..................Apology accepted.........in advance.......... BS i'm still watching Idols......will confirm later..............

mjj
22 May 2009 18:06

lol @ BS's request.................... Cit while at it............please compare it when Robert Marawa was still hosting.............for my sake..............i would love to know the diff in viewership if there's any...................

Brown Shuga
22 May 2009 18:26

LOL Mjj...Soccerzone is the most depressing soccer show on TV! I'm glad they won't be on screen for the next 3 weeks, phew!

mjj
22 May 2009 18:34

I stopped watching when Rob left...............he was the only credible person on that show.....................as for the current host...he should just go be a model full-time and leave Broadcasting to Pros...........

Brown Shuga
22 May 2009 19:06

MODEL?? Have u watched the show lately mjj? Doesn't sound like it!!! Lol! I was shocked when he was busy wishing his sister a hapi birthday on SOCCERzone & i was like OMW!!!! I think we have a problem when it comes to Sports anchors on SABC. Supersport took all the best ones, i even heard Udo's voice on Marawa's Engen show.

belz
22 May 2009 19:13

LOL!!! Poor Walter. I still like Carol, i can listen to her. BS you need to understand that some of us dont have a choice, its either you watch soccerzone or nothing at all, lol, i know listen to my Discovery sports channel, but sometimes i need to watch something.

Brown Shuga
22 May 2009 19:23

I love beautifuk Carol nami Belz. Maybe she must present Soccerzone! Provided she fires her hairstylist coz i've seen her with some dodgy weaves/wigs at times! Tjo, lemme go funda...ndiyeke abantu babantu!

belz
22 May 2009 19:26

LOL!!! She's got nice short hair now kodwa.

mjj
22 May 2009 19:57

Kaloku the last time i read about him was when he was giving some tips on how to look healthy..............i assumed he is fit and does part-time modelling................wasn't he on a Jet Advert in 2001?

mjj
22 May 2009 20:01

I seriously don't watch many programs on SABC..................i should start cause next month i'm also downgrading like Segololo and moving to welfare tv............. Oh Nkosi yami, is Carol still hyperactive? Xolelwa Majeke was a good anchor, i don;t know why SABC didn't renew her contract..........

mjj
22 May 2009 20:31

Harambe i'm watching Generations (don;t ask me why).....but i swear i just saw one of their writers as an extra? Is that the case, or my eyes are deceiving me seeing that i haven't watched it for ages? Khona, i thought Senzo was Busie's child, why r they saying Sibusiso is the father? Let me go to the Gen blog...........

mjj
22 May 2009 20:34

Hayi this things says per week............the slide they are showing just lists the a graph with numbers and in the narration they say per week..........

Paralyzer
23 May 2009 08:11

Supa
24 May 2009 11:00

mjj
24 May 2009 11:32

mtezula
24 May 2009 15:17

Citanul
25 May 2009 09:32

In Week 17 it was 1.35 million people

>>please compare it when Robert Marawa was still hosting.............for my sake..............i would love to know the diff in viewership if there's any...................<<

When did he stop hosting it?  I've probably still got the figures, but I would need to know the dates before I can tell you anything.
