PSL Awards Nominees & New Coaches

The PSL End Of Season Awards take place on Sunday and here are the nominees, with my favourites highlighted in bold.

Absa HOT Young Player:
• Masibusane Zongo – SuperSport United
• Bongani Khumalo – SuperSport United
• Sifiso Myeni – Bidvest Wits

I think Bongani has done very well, considering he hasn't been in the PSL for long.
Huuuuu, you guys should hear him twang!! Tjo...mara ke I guess if you're dating a "Cheesegirl" who doesn't do Kasi boys, you better twang real good!

Absa Premiership Goal Keeper of the Season:
• Kennedy Mweene – Free State Stars
• Calvin Marlin – Mamelodi Sundowns
• Energy Murambandoro – Bidvest Wits

Ea Lla Koto were fourth on the log so clearly they're doing something right and their defence record ain't bad either. I'm going with my homeboys on this one.

Absa–lutley Awesome Goal:
• Gary Goldstone – Maritzburg United against Ajax Cape Town
• Jermaine Christian – Bay United against Kaizer Chiefs
• Ryan Botha – Moroka Swallows against Bloemfontein Celtic

I don't know on this one coz I ain't seen any of those goals.

Absa Premiership Coach of the Season:
• Ruud Krol – Orlando Pirates
• Clive Barker - AmaZulu
• Gavin Hunt - SuperSport United

Ruud Krol has done amazing things with the Pirates boys and even though they didn't win the League, they have a lot to be proud of. He's also so down to earth man, I like his style.

Absa Premiership Player of the Season:
• Morgan Gould – SuperSport United
• Lucas Thwala – Orlando Pirates
• Teko Modise - Orlando Pirates

He won it last year mara what can I say, the General is the nation's pride right now and even though both Lucas and Morgan have done a brilliant job this season, Teko deserves the glory.
Lucas has just won Player of The Year award at Pirates so I'm sure he won't mind if Teko takes it.

The awards will be hosted by Robert Marawa and broadcast on Supersport Sport 4 and SABC 1 at 8pm on Sunday.

In other news....Kaizer Chiefs has a new coach and as usual, we have to learn pronouncing a name AGAIN.

His name is Vladimir Vermezovic from Serbia.

*sigh*

Meanwhile....

Muhsin is DEFINITELY going to AJAX so now we are waiting to see whether Khenyeza will stay with Ajax, given their relationship.

Khanyeza says if Mushin is in he is out, and Mushin is willing to sit & talk with Mabhuti.. Will have to wait and see.Do they only have 5 categories? I think Lucas Twala is going to suprise us with this one too, hard luck Teko

Did u listen to Thwala's interview with Marawa yesterday Cande? It was difficult man. And later Walter was interviewing Mandla Masango and i was like 'eish. And today Marawa was talking to Sandile Ndlovu and it was ALSO uncomfortable! I think the clubs really need to help the players with courses in communication. It's sad coz part of their job is being interviewed so the clubs need to take this SERIOUSLY.

hahahha i havent been listening, shame and you find that those soccer players are the most talented. I sometimes wonder how do they communicate with the coaches seeing that some of their coaches cant even speak English properly. They should just respond in whatever language they are comfortable with

Ideally, bt on a platform like Metro, where u have all sorts of people listening, it wudnt be fair. Otherwise Robert wud be translating waya waya. Hayi, something needs to be done.

so has khenyeza confirmed that?. & i would advise clubs at psl level to be aware of their players ability of communication. At some point the player wins the man of match award tjo,,, its as if a plaasboy is being interviewed. Some dnt take pride about their jobs that put food on the table even if" its running 90 sweating minutes.

Mtezula, you can't blame the players for that. I just think they should be told to reply in whatever language they feel comfortable in. For example, on SABC 1, why does Marks not tell them to speak in Zulu or even interview them in Zulu??

On Mabhudi - According to NEWS24:

"We hope that whatever happened between Muhsin and Mabhudi in the past will remain in the past," said Ajax chairperson John Comitis, "and they reconcile their differences as both are important influence in our future plans."

But the plea has seemigly fallen on deaf ears as far as Khenyeza is concerned.

"I'm out of here as fast as I can," said the emphatic striker, who left Chiefs in a hurry as well after falling out with Ertugral.

"I have a three-year contract with Ajax," added Khenyeza, "and it has two years to run. But the club will have to understand my situation and allow me to move on. I had no idea Ertugral would follow me here when I signed up.

I have really lost faith in the foreign coaches, i dont think this new guy will last a season at The Phefeni Glamour Boys. I mean Vladimir coached only two teams in his entire coaching career, How will he mangage to coach a big team like Amakhosi a mahle, unless he is another Sir Alex Ferguson.

Mr Motaung and his son are really taking us for a ride, Kaizer Chiefs is going to get a hiding onwe way this season. someone was telling me that Kaizer mentioned on City Press that Chiefs' standard of play is too high for south africna coaches.
How can a man of his calibre say somethng like that?!

Khanyeza please come back to Naturena, Mushin is gone!

to think of it, the motaung family are not really into football nowadays. they have so diversified their investments that even if Chiefs is relegated they will survive. they dont care about the supporters, nor the team.

Robert was interviewing Kosta Papic who knows Vladimir well and Kosta reckons that V is a good coach.

it will probably be Teko again cheese, not because i;'m a pirate fan, but because the boy has been a marvel...he is on his own league and if he does go overseas next season, we're really going to struggle to find his replacement....

but then again i said the same thing when Tso left, so ja we'll just have to wait and see

I would go with Gavin Hunt on this one, atleast he's got something to show for it. Rudi Krol didn't win a thing

I don't know why Richard Henyekane is not on that list....He ended the season with the most goals after all.

PIrates have done well this season, but Rud Kroll does'nt deserve the Coach of the season award. Clive Barker has done his best but Gavin hunt deserves it.

Eish who is this young boy who will be coaching chiefs next season.

Guys i will suport Mabhuti khanyeza benni macharthy,, these guys(coaches & Safa ) disrespect players.. If he feels he cant work with Mushin then he is right . The problem is that some off our Journalist will not mention names get a script from some coaches about players.. so when we have outspoken players we say they must keep quiet and play football. well their careers involve more than football.. so he is right in protecting himself. YO go Mabhuti.. LOOk at what safa has done now they have replaced him but who was wrong??? SAFA but what does the meadia write?? same case as benni..
anywere SHAPA BHAKABIYA SHAPA.. guys i put ma head on the block Pirates will win at least three cups including the telkom charity shield...
