I am a huge fabulosity follower, yep – Kimora Lee Simmons – way of life. And being overly in love with her show
“Kimora: Life in the fab lane” I read an article about her pregnancy to fiancée Djimon Hounsou, our brother from Benin. He swears that Kimora is the most “down to earth”, “low maintenance woman” he has dated… I couldn’t help but laugh at that statement, because it raised two questions – Who has Djimon been dating? Has Djimon seen Kimora’s reality show or read her book?

I started making comparisons to other reality shows that I spent hours oodling – Are the Kardashian kids and mother really that mean and snubbish to the father(What IS that guy’s name?)? Is he also that dof ? Are
Candy Girls really that eager to be the “IT girl” in a music video or whatever they get paid for? Is the debutart Jade in
America’s Next Top Model really that annoying?Is the “mean and horrid” partner on
The Amazing Race that cruel to their partner?

Girls of the playboy mansion really that friendly towards each other and the other playmates? Is the cheated on black girlfriend really that “violent” and “abusive” to their cheating husband in
Cheaters?Does she even want to go ahead with a humiliating confrontation? Were
The Newlyweds really that happy and lovely when the cameras were not rolling? How much reality do we see in reality shows? Was the camera button being off that got them the title the Divorcee’s?
Girls of the Playboy MansionWould I still watch Kimora if she was not so dramatic and hilarious on her show? I love those shows when she’s getting ready for an event and changes a million times then stands in her 350 square meter walk-in-wardrobe filled with gazillion clothes and says “I have no clothes! I have nothing to wear, guys!” Is she really that comfortable in her nakedness like that ? Does she “pray” and “talk to Jesus” that often?

Does she really have 7 or so assistants? Does she promote everyone from assistant to Director in the
Phat farm company? And do they do everything? She asks them to do the weirdest things for her – stuff I do not expect a Director to do!! Does she travel with a fleet of cars and an entourage of all her Directors? How come we never see Djimon but Russel is all over the show?
How do they film these “reality shows”? Think about it, do these stars, some not stars, have cameras following them everywhere? Are we “seeing” reality? How much of the “drama” and over-the-top behaviours of some reality show debutarts real? How much of it is edited to get the ratings higher and sell another season? How much of the recorderd material on the show taken off as “junk” cause it didn’t have controversy?

One thing for sure; the drama and hilarity on these shows keep me coming back. So even if it was all not there, I know I would still love to see Aoki Lee; that kid is gonna be big. Oops! She already is – with her own line of clothes already! AND she is real – no acting there! AND I am eagerly waiting for Kendra’s show in June… When is Britney or Rihanna getting their own reality show contracts?
