The WWE Rewind: Starts This Week

Ok, so for the last 3 weeks I've been attempting to hype up the WWE Rewind Blog. I've had over 250 views which in my estimation is pretty good. So, this Thursday, I will be reviewing the WWE SmackDown episode from the prior night. The blogs will usually be available at about 9am but never later than 2pm. The format of the blogs will include quick play-by-play analysis, comments and opinions of other events within the WWE Universe, as well as a Q&A Segment, which I think would be a great interactive feature given the fact that much of the SA market doesn't have a clue what happens within the WWE. With that, we are but 3 days away from broadcast. Thursday 4 June, 9am SAST. Be there.

Please write a lot about John Cena, whom I think is the hottest man in Wrestling and I will read.

My son (who is a softie) is very much into this so he tells me all about who is who, why they don't like one another etc etc.

Also Brandon, please in your intro, explain a bit about whether those people fight for real or whether it's all an act? I really wonder about that.
Is it true that they practice/rehearse all those things before the audience comes in? Do they make a lot of money?

I love John Cena...and I was forced to watch that movie, "The Marine" more times than I can remember....

Cool Brandon - it's gonna be great getting a perspective on it all - from the sounds it you're a pro when it comes to knowing what needs to be known. I've always been curious to understand the phenomenon of it more - lookin' forward to hearing your take.

I used to be a big fan of WWE but since they mixed them all together and started a new RAW, Smackdown, etc. I lost interest in it since then.

My old time favorites were Mick Foley, Kane(before he removed the mask), Eddie Guerrero (may his soul rest in peace), Undertaker(before he woke up from the dead naye). The one I always foud sexy was Shaun Micheals(with that intro song of his) and Batista of coz....i have quite a list of the old favorites....and, oh...lil'Ray-Ray...Ray Misterio

Bring it on Brandon, like BS said tell us if its true or its just an act

Thanks for all the support thus far. I promise to make the blog an exciting place where you can post your opinions on current WWE TV affairs. A couple of notes to some of the replyers (if that's a word). Tashi and Brown Suga, TVSA will never be the same again. I am a TV freak and I think (without arrogant ideas) that this blog will be a mainstay on the site. Ms. Tebby, prepare yourself for a bumpy ride. And finally to Jael and Dali... I will make you converts.

See everyone on June 4 for in-depth analysis on WWE SmackDown!

To Brown Shuga:

WWE is sports entertainment. I don't mean to brag, but I have an extensive knowledge of the WWE. Yes, WWE is planned weeks in advanced. Wrestlers/performers will come into the arena and the producer would tell him/her who will win the match. Only the outcome is determined and the match is almost entirely improvised, so yes there is a great level of realism. No one can fave falling 2 meters after being superplexed of can fake the impact of John Cena's Attitude Adjuster or even Batista's Batista Bomb.

WWE makes a huge amount of money. In the past quater their net income for merchandise only stood at $19 million! WWE RAW is the higherst rated cable TV-show in the United States, and averages 6 million viewers each Monday night, beating out even "Prison Break" in the 9pm timeslot. WrestleMania this past April had the largest grossing single-day box office performance at $6.9 million US dollars, beating out cinematic releases such as "Fast and Furious" and "Monsters vs. Aliens" - combined!

WWE is a global phenomenon!
Oh and Tashi, WWE recently started broadcasting a new show called WWE Superstars and I would love to knowif etv will be getting that soon, even thoug people are complaining about too many WWE shows.

yeah remotef, please dont forget to find out for me what hornsworggle(sp) wears under those green pants that makes his butt so round like a  ball....

Brown Shuga
18 May 2009 09:14

<<<Wrestlers/performers will come into the arena and the producer would tell him/her who will win the match.>>>> This is disappointing news but it explains a a lot about how they just "allow" themselves to be beaten up.

- So what's Donald Trump's involvement in all of this?
- The difference between WWE RAW, Smackdown and Superstars?

remotefreak09
18 May 2009 14:42

Don't let it disappoint you, Brown Suga... this only happens to progress. In addition, the networks want WWE to appear as an "entertainment" program, not sports unfortunately. WWE is split into 3 brands. ECW, Raw and SmackDown. The reason for this split is to allow everyone on the 75+ roster some ring time. Imagine if there were one show. Then think of all the main eventers... We may miss out on some of them. So the brands were created. Due to their small roster, ECW Superstars are able to compete on Raw or SmackDown, which is why from time to time see Evan Bourne on RAW or see Mark Henry perform on SmackDown. Currently and exclusively in America, a 4th live show is on air, WWE Superstars. This show features all WWE superstars on one show in matches you'd least expect. In the debut episode, Matt Hardy took on Undertaker... We're not quite sure if etv will pick this up. Again, Brown Suga don't let the planned aspect of the WWE get to you. We watch WWE to admire ring work, charisma and most importantly - entertainment.

remotefreak09
18 May 2009 14:53

Donald Trump was involved in WrestleMania 23 (2007) exclusively. Every year, WWE brings in a celebrity to promote WrestleMania. Last year we had Floyd Mayweather and this year was Mickey Rourke. Unfortunately, we don't ever get to see the American National Song get performed at each WrestleMania. In 2008 John Legend was the performer and this year the song was performed by Nicole Sherzinger of PCD.

Ok, June 4 is fine. Toodecent is getting Tooimpatient... LOL! I really didn't think people would take this Blog seriously. Just gives me that incentive to work harder on it. What I've just realised is that I'll have to review both PPVs and RAW, which both come on Sundays. Just means more reading for you guys. I like the challenge. The first PPV/RAW Blog will take place on June 8th for "WWE Judgment Day"
