13 Pictures Y U Should See White Wedding!

Okay, truth is that I'm too lazy to write but seeing that the movie is being released in cinemas today, I need to tell you that it is worth seeing!!
I went to check it out last week and it truly a great effort by Rapulana Seiphemo and Kenneth Nkosi.
It is not about crime, nor is it about apartheid...umm...well it does touch on the latter & there's even a glimpse of the old apartheid flag in the movie but there's nothing "hectic" about it, it's a feel good movie with lots of moments that will leave you chuckling.

I enjoyed it and would definitely not mind seeing it again.

Please, do not buy a pirated copy, rather take your R50 and go support a proudly south african product and two brothers who are doing a sterling job of making our film industry something to be proud of.

I was shocked to read in this article "VENDAWOOD" that in South Africa
"only 8 to 10 films are produced each year, with an average budget of 9 million rand. Yet, at the box office they barely rake in one million rand"

That is so heartbreaking, coz I know there are some very good films that are coming out of SA lately...
Eish where possible., let's be supportive bafetshu!. Start with with this one...

white weddd

Just like in real life...they are best friends in the movie and below is one of those "aawww" moments!

The most romantic scene in the movie....

Two beautiful sisters!!

w1

....and their mother, who kills me with her Xhosa and how she calls a restaurant i "restju" Cape Town Style!!! lol

w2

...and of course all "funny" movies have to have the "gay" guy to supply those OTT & hilarious comments!

w3

..ad there's a goat called "George" too....

w4

And someone cute but with an annoying accent....

w5

Hahahahah I loved these boys!!!!!!!!!

w6

....We get to enjoy the sounds of "De Larey!" ...nice song!!

w7

Oom Fanie is just too loveable....I love his first scene!!!

w8

....and how he talks about his wife...lol

w10

This guy in the oversized what-what  has killa lines!! Umxhosa wa se Ndwe!

w9

If my reasons are stupid and not good enough for you then just  go simply to see Zandile Msutwana coz she's just the most beautiful bride ever!
Maybe even better than Rhythm City's Charlotte??? Hahahah go check it out!
zandi

I think I have a girl crush on this woman...

My rating?
I can't decide between 6/10 or 7/10!!! It's good.

<<Belz, there's no Numetro e eastgate! I aint driving 2 rosebank!>> What's at East Rand Mall??

I havent been watching Movies lately... I dont know, I just get lazy to go. But I'll go watch this one. I hope it is showing at Centurion. Come to think of it, I dont know where the movie house is at ko Centurion. Sigh...

What I want to know is: What is the difference between Ster Kine JUNCTION or CLASSIC? Paying just under R50 for a movie ticket is absurd! They show the same movies mos, its not like you get free popcorn and coke - or get a massage while you watch the movie.

Where's the ANCYL? they should mobilise the ppl to boycott Sterkinekor Classics - in this recession time nogal...!!

Cande
29 Apr 2009 08:47

hehehe BS, was with my friend @ Lakeside and it looked like you could get mugged inside the mall. khona their parking looks too unsafe. maybe that is why the movie is R15. let me google and see where i can watch the before someone brings a fake dvd.

belz
29 Apr 2009 08:47

BS, On Wednesdays even LSM 8 cinemas turn to LSM 1, you should see Monte Casino on the night, its like you are at Park Station.

29 Apr 2009 09:59

Cande?? Is there parking there... I always get scared to parallel park on the side of the road, I panic and sweat bullets - huuuu!! I actually havent been to Sunnyside or Brooklyn (which I hear is nice) - its a shame... or not! hahahah!!

Haai its fine, I'll go to Menlyn!! Even though kugcwala abomaKip Kip and those scarfs zaka bin laden!! Aaahhh... I hate how that mall can get so overcrowded! I'll go watch it next week - this wknd is packed.

Cande
29 Apr 2009 10:06

There is plenty of underground, securednyana parking in Sunnypark. Menlyn iritates the living hell outta me, those school kids overcrowd the mall.

mjj
29 Apr 2009 11:00

Lahvee stay away from those malls with Ayobaness children (the likes of Menlyn Sunnypark, Centurion Mall)......Go to Brooklyn or Irene Mall.....trust me the chances of meeting someone you know are 2% (which is gr8).....there's nothing worse than going to a mall and meeting "Cande" and be forced to smile and pretend as if u r happy seeing her....... Cande - my friend u know i'm making an example......... I got the tickets....so this means i'll be watching this movie 2nite......"sigh"..... JP - i don't like weddings no more.........people go to show off....the most irritating thing about weddings is when people ask you "When is your turn".....

Ngqesta
29 Apr 2009 11:22

Definitely going to see it this coming weekend....I just LOVE SA movies.....I opt for Noliwood as we don't have as much.

@mjj -
eish that pisses me too

As long as the movie is not about gangsta bull or Leon Shuster toilet humour, I'll go and support them.

belz
29 Apr 2009 11:31

Lahvee, the way ofeela ngayo ngeMenlyn is exaclty how i feel ngeRosebank, those Bin laden scarfs and the kip kip and the " like whateveeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" type fo teenagers, Jeeer.

JadaPinkett
29 Apr 2009 11:47

....the most irritating thing about weddings is when people ask you "When is your turn"..... ey say that again Sana but if they askin me that I jst tell them that i'm too young for being worried about wedding but my turn is coming ...u have to say this once uyobabona bamane bashwaqe...believe it works for me.

Went to see the movie at Sunnypark yesterday ( i bunked work : ) ), first i went to watch a movie and i was rather impressed, maybe its because it was midweek for a 12:00 movie but the place is very neat and spacious unlike Sterland which is horror of horrors.

I enjoyed the movie, its a nice comedy.

I think I have a girl crush on this woman...

Kwa kwa kwa! @ Shugs!coming out moment, the close ups are hectic if she were any less beautiful like a missing/rotten tooth, or moustache it would be hectic....

She was a perfect casting, she has a calm thing about her..... donno who would have done it better. And dang, a beautiful bride too, hay if she dont get a couple of STREET proposals after this movie...andazi.

Overall i gave it a 8/10, well done for a local movie, loved the film colour.

Lady D
05 May 2009 22:45

i watched the movie, with such a hype created,my expectations were way too high, and unfortunately, they were not met.for a local film, its not bad,i'd give it a 4 or 5.The first point lost was at the beginning of the movie, where the is a lost child at the airport/bus depot, bad acting at its best, then the unnecessary prolonged trip to the wedding with unnecessary obstacles, like having to wait fot gogo nwho went to visit a neighbor..really now, tthen the boring gay guy,Maxin from Generations would have done a better and convincing job, then the Merc guy, what a yawn!! Well lemme me not spoil the mood for those who have not seen it..BS you should be in sales mokgotsi, your excellent in arousing interest.

Brown Shuga
05 May 2009 23:12

<<<<The first point lost was at the beginning of the movie, where the is a lost child at the airport/bus depot, bad acting at its best>>>> Oh I completely forgot about that!!! lol
I think the whole point of that lost child in airport scene was to justify Justice Malala's  (it was him, right?) cameo in the movie. Totally unnecessary....

<<<<then the unnecessary prolonged trip to the wedding with unnecessary obstacles, like having to wait fot gogo nwho went to visit a neighbor..really now>>> Heheheh hayi mina I had forgotten those boring scenes maan, the thing is I have a tendency to block out bad things I don't wanna remember to a point where I REALLY forget them...like that airport scene lol.

Hahahah I DON"T have the patience for sales Lady D, plus the things YOU have to put up with...aowa!
Thanks for checking it out though!

HEARD:
- That the movie was shot in just 16 days.
- That in it's opening week it made more money than Tsotsi did in their opening week.

J-Girl
22 May 2009 14:53

I only saw this yesterday...
Lets just say ummm I have to go again (blame it on my slowness) I had to watch My sh*t father (all 3) twice or more to actually find it funny.
The white boys were the ish though! The pub scene and oom's scene at his house with his guests were funny!!

belz
22 May 2009 15:04

LOL. LM i didn't mean to kgafisha you, was jsut expressing how i feel about Monte, it used to be such and LSM 100000 cinema, its jsut sad nje what happened that day, no offence to Benonians.
