Another teary week in Horizon Deep, and I am still glued to my screen with tears rolling down my face. When am I gonna get it that these people are acting? Aoa, gontse (No, It’s enough). I tried to focus on what was said, the irony of the words, and not on the tears so much, it helped a little. So Letti is angelically singing and chilling with Bra Fox as ledlozi (ancestor)… He must be soooo happy!!
Frank to some incompetent staff “We were worried about her leaving for ENY, THAT would have been a lot better than this” Ironically, everyone was so not happy about the New York opportunity. They were all concerned about how their lives will be impacted. Poor Letti had not heard a word from her father for two weeks because his precious business would not cope without Vusi if Letti took the New York job. Now Zeb has to deal with NEVER talking to her again...
Paul to Farrow “You’ve never killed anyone” If he only knew! Ironically, Farrow killed her brother – we were very happy for this. Thank you, Farrow, for letting Anton leave our screens. Paul doesn’t know and keeps telling Farrow how she has never killed anyone, “see the life of a human being leave”. Farrow at times seems to want to scream a confession out.
Vusi to Paul “You killed her paul. You come to say sorry?”
Vusi to Parsons “He must pay for what he did to Letti. That boy Paul will pay for what he has done”
Vusi to Siyanda “You see what happens when you play with people’s lives. She would never have known! Never!” Vusi gets a call from Siyanda and starts screaming at her, laying the blame all on her… arrogant fool! He was also part of that affair and ironically, Letti was on the phone with him when she jumped onto the road. I wanted Zeb to be at the door as he was screaming on the phone like that. Doesn’t he know that “sekhukhuni se bonwa ke sebataladi” (Nothing can stay hidden forever)
Parsons to Vusi “Lettis death was an accident, not your fault”
Agnes to Vusi “you are a great man, an outstanding husband”
Poor Matabanes have no clue that they are telling the killer how perfect he is and has no blame. Mama Aggie will never be able to handle the truth after all these loving words to the killer… How will the Matabane family take the truth? How will they deal with it?
Nandipha to Tilly “Vusi, how could he?”
Ironically, Vusi condemned Parsons’ public affair with Thandi and supported Nandipha. *shaking head* I would ask the same question and wonder if Parsons knew and was a more honorable man than Vusi.
Parsons to Thandi “This is hard for me. I don’t have time to be dealing with relationship stuff”
Heeh! Heeh! The arrogance of the men in that Matabane house! How dare he say that to Thandi when all she wanted to do is go pay her respects and help? She wasn’t saying I want to sit on the mattress next to your mother! She could have just popped by like the community peeps and did her thing. The irony here was the relationship stuff was not centered on the role she will play at the house like Nandipha, but her being there for him. He further on later talks about “tributes pouring in from all over the world”!! *sigh* *shaking head*
Agnes to Tilly and Nandipha “I want to know why my child was in the middle of the road, at night and alone.”
If only Mama Aggie knew the people she is talking to, have the answer and proof! Why didn’t Nandipha just blurt it out?
Paul to Maggy “If it wasn’t for you and that bloody chuck!”
My thoughts exactly!!!! Maggy was pushy about the damn stroganoff for the bowling ladies, she pushed Paul to drive there. They should share this guilt… Maybe this will trigger her memory of Stella's frantic call about Letti's last moments with Mr not Guilty everyone is Moletsane, Vusi.
Agnes to Zeb “Traditional is good. She would have liked that”
Zeb is ssssssoooo traditional that he almost took Refilwe as a second wife and pushed Parsons to take Thandi as a second wife. Where he has been forceful and almost demeaning to everyone, in this instance where all that is needed he is forlorn. Is it guilt at not talking to Letti? Or the pain is just so unbearable that he feels defeated?
Vusi’s uncle to a friend“These Matabane people are becoming a problem”
Vusi’ aunt to Vusi “Don’t let the Matabanes influence you”
Are they aware that Letti was a Matabane daughter before being their daughter-in-law? Hau bathong! Are people really that heartless when making decisions about funeral arrangements to the in-laws? The Matabanes are just asking for consideration of their pain and what they are dealing with but Vusi’s relatives are just so “unfeeling” and seem to be maliciously pushing tradition they can’t even define its origins.
Great work, Isidee writers… Keep it up! Please don’t take us back to Dineo’s story after these wonderful two weeks! PLEASE!! Can we explore Stella and Maggy's gossip about Letti's last hours... Please
